I have a 1939 home that has been painted Sherwin Williams 7005 Pure White for as long as we have owned the home. (And our painter is coming tomorrow!)

We had our trim painted with benjamin moore distant gray. It’s a very crisp white.

I do not like white with brick IMO way too high contrast . This is my fave with brick Could we see your house ?

@yumelizabeth Love the distant gray. How does it differ from Decorators White, which is the color I’m leaning towards? I was trying to pick a crisp white with an LRV lower than 87. Thank you

@JAN MOYER Thank you, I do love Chantilly! We did most of our interior in Chantilly Lace. I thought the LRV might be too high on the exterior of our house.

The green of your garden affects perception, the light depends your location on planet earth. Detroit is not Miami. LA is not NYC. Cloudy days are a different light than bright and sunny days. So you buy a gallon and proceed . It's a clean white, it's against red brick, and you are agonizing over nothing, really. Agonizing on LRV..........and all you need to do is paint some Chantilly on and go stand back. It's paint, not a hole in the house. : )

Distant gray has an LRV of 90 and is a cool white I believe. Tha’s about all I know.

We ended up going with W096 01 Benjamin Moore White Regal Select Exterior Soft Gloss. It comes pre-mixed in the can from the factory at your paint store. For reference and anyone looking for a crisp, white exterior paint with no yellow undertones and is not blinding, our house is a 1936 American Colonial with wooden siding.
