Comments (34)When I ordered my last area rug I found the carpet I wanted, did a google image search, found it was for sale by a dozen different stores under at least 1/2 a dozen different names and as many prices. I ordered it from Bed Bath and Beyond so that I could return it locally and would not have to pay for return shipping. It got here - I liked it. I ordered it from the least expensive seller and took the other one back to BBB. I did call BBB first and let them know that I had ordered a carpet from them and was planning on returning it because it was less elsewhere, but they would not match the price, so I had to return it....See Morebacksplash? paint? wallpaper? help
Comments (2)I’d love to see a playful wallpaper in this space. Not too dark as this is a workspace. Select a paper that picks up colors used in larger room. Or if you don't have any specific accent colors here’s your chance to color outside of the lines. There are some washable papers that would help with splashes of champagne! There are glass shelves with small or hidden clips that look attractive....See MoreNeed Interior Design Opinions on Paint/Wallpaper/Accent walls
Comments (11)No wallpaper on the TV wall, it's too distracting. I would wait to decide on whether or not to change the paint color on the TV wall until you finish decorating that room. For example, the area rug in there seems boring to me. That room would be so improved with a lively rug such as a hand woven tribal. Or if you like a more traditional rug, a hand-knotted Persian is always perfect. The paint colors and the wainscoting are fine, and you can continue the waiscoting in the hallway if you want. I would not paint the stairway a different color. You don't want the house to give a choppy feeling, especially with the open plans they have nowadays. If you are in love with a particular wallpaer, you can cut a few rectangular pieces and put them up spaced, and frame them with pieces of molding and they look as though they are works of art. This looks very nice in a dining room. I don't particularly care for the wallpaper you chose. It is very dense and a bit odd. I would find not restful or happy or inspiring. If you are bound and determined to have it somewhere, maybe have it as an accent wall behind your headboard in the master bedroom. Often people go bold with the wallpaper in the first floor powder room, but I would find it too disturbing for even there. I can't see the alligator piece very well, but I am wondering if it doesn't belong in a children's room? I don't understand what you are asking about the bathroom....See MoreBuilt-in Cabinet for Glassware-paint/wallpaper back interior cabinet
Comments (9)I like very useful china/glassware. My last home had a built in buffet with glass doors on top (some might say that is dated, nonetheless went beautifully with my 1968 ranch). I put in an antiqued french mirror, wine glass racks, decanters of liquor, and barware. Also, undershelf lighting. Functional and charming. Loved it. P.S. My neighbor (who was literally 94 years old) had the most INCREDIBLE bar cabinet that she and her husband had custom built in about 1970. It was GORGEOUS. I would have bought that in a red hot minute. Floor to ceiling, about 5' wide. I think they used to have some awesome parties :)...See More- 11 years ago
