Are you drawn to a certain color of rose?
Comments (55)I too am a pink lover. I have more pink roses than any other color and I still cant get enough of them. I got a gift certificate to David Austins for xmas last year and made a selection of 8 roses to buy. When I looked at my cart 7 out of the 8 were pink. LOL I'm not really into red roses, but I do have a few and I do like them. I'm really not a fan of dark roses at all (Munsted wood, etc) but its probably because those tend to turn black in my hot South Florida sun. Also I like to make a lot of bouquets with my roses and the dark ones always stick out like sore thumbs. I am, however, currently on an orange rose kick. I recently purchased Lady Emma Hamilton (which promptly died and I'm so sad about it, waiting till next season to get her again) and Pat Austin which I love (although the flowers blow quickly). This year I also got Fragrant Cloud, which I worried would look too dark and gaudy, but somehow has pink undertones that make it blend fabulously with my other roses. I'm loving my Lady Bird and Broadway and Papi Delbard and Easy Does It and when they bloom I make all apricot/orange bouquets matched with a few warm pinks and the effect is delightful. I'm all about the orange pink blends now. :) And I'm loving Gilbert Becaud above. But boy, I cant seem to find a seller!!!...See MoreAnother Regional Fundraising Cookbook

Comments (29)Update! I got home tonight and found email from the seller saying she would refund me all of the money. She has asked that I ship the bedskirt to the next buyer (she is re-listing) and she will reimburse me for the cost to ship. I told her I would be happy to ship to another buyer and thanked her for finding a fair way to resolve the issue. The money was back in my account within minutes. I expect she will reimburse my shipping costs. All correspondence was within the eBay system so it is trackable. Lisa, as for the suggestion to ask for details, I hear ya, but that is a rabbit hole. I mean, where does it end? The dishes I got ripped off on were listed as "New." It never occurred to me that they were new but seconds. Yes, I should have asked, but it just didn't even cross my mind. I'd like to think that if someone says 18" in a listing, I don't have to ask if it is indeed 18". Roselvr, I did not wash the bedskirt, just ironed it. The Dish Witch would have accused me of having washed and shrunk it! Nicole, I am glad your PayPal experience was positive. In my case with the dishes, PayPal was not willing to refund me the return shipping costs. I would have been out $25 and even then the seller was threatening to notify the police that I was scamming her. I don't think she actually would have had a leg to stand on, but I just wanted it over with. Red, if I order something that shows up defective, I will often call the company and have them pick up the tab for return shipping. It's only fair. I am glad your sconce situation worked out. I do use my dishes from the Witch! And they were a lot cheaper than they would have been from Replacements. Yaya, I have a PayPal account. I have always used a credit card that I have registered with Paypal. Is a "buyer credit account" something different, something with more protection? Thanks everyone for the advice and commiseration. I'll let you know in a week if I get the shipping money refunded. I am optimistic that I will. The bedskirt is already re-listed. Stay tuned! :-)...See More'love letters' how do buyers feel?
Comments (17)Well this is exactly what I wrote: Hello! We would first like to say that we appreciate your offer on our house. It is a great house with so many little extras that you just won't see in most other homes. We know you have looked over the list of features. We would like to point out what it was that sold us on the house when we bought it that made it such a great value. The hardwood floors, 9 ft ceilings & skylights - really add tons of light especially when it seems like the sun will never come out, upgraded appliances, 2700+ square feet - feels huge compared to the rest, central air(!), and extra storage in garage are the features we appreciated (and miss) the most. These are the the things that will really hold their value for resale in the future if you were to move (at any other time than now). : ) Looking at our price/sq. foot we are much lower that most of the houses on the market and all the upgrades make it an extra value. We can't forget to mention that the neighbors are really great. The neighbors on either side have been so good to watch over the house and water the yard for us. If it were not for all of our family being here in the midwest, we could have seen our family live there very comfortably without outgrowing that house, and we have three children. Anyway, it's a hard decision, we know. Thanks for considering our home. Best regards, I'm not sure it had any barring on negotiations. I was trying to explain why we not willing to just take their offer, even though I was feeling desperate. I definitely wanted them to know what our house offered that the other did not without specifically dogging on the other house. After reading everyone's comments I am not sure I would do do it again. Although I would have appreciated receiving the little info on the neighbors and the things I may have overlooked. Even though I really think they knew our house was a better fit/buy but just wanted to rattle us into taking less. In the end they came up a bit and we came down. It's over and now we can finally work on building a new house in our new town/state....See Morenew-beginning
