You can do a search on this forum on Robern med cabs and read about issues with the silvering behind the glass coming off and showing black. Some say that you should only use water to clean the mirrors. Others say that they only used water and it still happened. Then people say not to spray anything on the glass and use only a water-dampened cloth to clean the mirror. I am not sure that this issue is even isolated to Robern. I have Pottery Barn med cabs and they have not yet had issues. Others will pop in and give more advice.

Here's the most important consideration when buying a lighted medicine cabinet: Are the lights owner-replaceable when you are several years down the line, out of warranty, and the lights no longer work? If not, will the parts be available and how much will they cost to buy and install? If there aren't easy answers to this, what you have is a very expensive medicine cabinet that is no different from a much cheaper unlighted one.

I have ordered two 40x30 Kohler Veranda LED medicine cabinets. They were expensive and I am concerned the lights will not last. I plan to have them recessed into the wall of my new build. They are supposed to last 50,000 hours.
I’m following this thread. Any advice from those who already have LED Medicine cabinets would be appreciated. I can still switch to non-lit medicine cabinets and have lights put in on the wall above or on both sides of cabinets. Thank you!
