Comments (4)I really appriciate this thread. I have a Maltese and a Newfoundland, and I also care for a welsh corgy and two cocker spaniels from time to time. I also have two cats. When my newfie was diagnosed with mange, my vet prescribed Ivermectin and recommended it for all animals as earmite and worm prevention. Being ridiculously busy, I am shameful to report that I have lapsed on this responsibility and now have found worms in two of the dogs stool, and around the tail fur of my Maltese. I suspect it could be more than one type of worm. After my research I am believing it is tapeworm and roundworm. I gave her a dose of the Ivermectin last night. My questions are: Is ivermectin a cure as well as a preventative? IF so, how much and how often? Will giving her a dose of OTC de wormer after the Ivermectin be harmful? And finally, does anyone have any recommendations for a good OTC De wormer? I have contacted my vet and am waiting on a return call but I am frantic to get this handled A.S.A.P because I have a child. I realize that this thread has been about fish, but many thanks to everybody who has any suggestions....See MoreGrasshoppers.... ugh
Comments (14)I actually was serious on the lawn roller. About 4 years ago we had them by the thousands when normally there is none. At the time I only had flowers in containers but they were starting to find them. They would swarm up every morning and evening and head to or from, I guess, the bedding area. At this time I would walk with the roller smashing them into the ground. Thankfully it was very hot then because for an hour or so it was pretty gross and slippery on the spots without grass.... It is also almost fun as you can here them "pop"..... I can't help with the DE or malathion much but would imagine the malathion would be quite effective in the evening when the good bugs went to sleep. Good luck...See MoreUgh, can this just stop!!! Please!?!?!
Comments (27)I took her to the orthopedic today. She won't need surgery, she will be in a sling and also use an ace bandage wrapped around her body at night to immobilize her arm. She has been in a good mood all day and hasn't complained of any pain so that part is great. However, he said it would take 6 weeks to heal and I need to keep her restricted for that entire time. Keep a 3 year old restricted...so funny! No swimming which will be hard as we have a pool and swim every single day. Also, she's left handed...with her left arm in a sling. Raven- his eye is a long story but I'll try to summarize. In December 2012, he was working in the shop when a piece of wood flew up and hit his eye. His actual eyeball was bleeding, not profusely but there was blood. Goes to the doctor, gets eyedrops, it heals fine. Less than a year later, he develops a cataract in that eye. A nasty big one that required 2 surgeries to fix. Now, his retina detaches. All of it is due to the initial trauma in 2012. Thanks everyone for letting me vent....See Moreugh... help with counter choice in gray and white kitchen
Comments (9)It sounds as if you're in a common situation where aren't really liking what you thought you'd like. Like, you had a vision for your kitchen, but now that it's coming together in real life, it's not singing for you with these counter options. I suspect it's hard to see other options/possibilities at the moment, so forget your current kitchen plan/vision for a moment and go do another tour of the slab showrooms. This time, instead of looking at all the quiet, pale grey and white slabs, go look at everything that isn't that. Things you weren't considering before. And while you are looking, deliberately stop thinking about the slabs in the context of the kitchen you're building or if they fit the vision or how it'll look as a counter. Just look at each slab and ask yourself, "Do I think this stone is beautiful? Right here, right now in this show room, is this slab beautiful?" Take pictures of every slab where the answer is yes. Also note the name of the material, and then go home and search the internet for pictures of kitchens that used that material for their counters with white or light cabinets similar to the ones you have now. Do you like any of those kitchens? If so, maybe that kitchen's counter material is what you should go with. Put those slabs on hold, and see if switching to that vision for your kitchen grows on you over a few days or a week....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
