Well, kmigs26, you asked yesterday. Today they may be overgrown! LOL You do have to keep an eye on them or they'll get HUGE!! I've let a zuk go to town at the end of the season and it was about 3' long! Then I gave it to someone for zucchini races! ;) I like the 6-10", but if you miss one (they hide, you know!) you can use them in bread , zuk fritters, sliced and sandwiched with some cheese then breaded and fried, hollowed out a bit and stuffed with anything from a burger mixture such as meatloaf to a vege mixture ! The only way I have successfully frozen zuk is to grate it, squeeze it dry and freeze. You can use this for breads, hide it in stews and soups for the vege haters, muffins etc. There is a harvest forum that has tons of ways to prepare and preserve all sorts of food! Check it out! Thank you ladies! I am prone to motion sickness and, at least this time, not crazy if others notice it also. Honestly, it makes me hesitant to view that site. Note to funky: I'll take rustic wooden tables, white plates, linen napkins, and artful crumbs over this style of photo. I'd rather yawn than do something else that vertigo can cause. Another devil on your shoulder note to funky: think how cool your blog pictures will look with an occasional spiralized vegetable, as long as it's not taken from a vertigo inducing angle.

I can't get my pics to download from the camera (the kids have been using it to take pics of the new baby, and must have changed some setting), but the candy is finished. It was in the dehydrator all night, so tastes like Kool-aid flavored fruit leather. Something kids would like, but I'd rather have the real thing. The color isn't so bad now--just kind of brown, but purple-ish if you hold a pieces up to the light. My grandson learned how to use an ulu and a vegetable peeler, so it was a good experience. I just finished a late lunch salad of cherry tomatoes, zucchini slices, and shredded cheddar cheese. Yum. ETA, pic. It tastes better than it looks, lol.

Hi Silvia! We are doing very well thank you. My older son Josh just turned 25, works at IFly and base jumps (jumps off of things like cliffs and bridges with a parachute cause he's nuts) and Nick is 16 now. He is a trumpet player and all into the band in school. How is your beautiful daughter? I don't have a lot in the garden at this time, but I just bought some earthboxes in their sale and some bare root strawberry plants from a guy in Dade City, plus some seedlings from the greengrocers off of exit 17 on I4. The old gentleman in Dade city was so INTERESTING!!! I found him on Craigslist. His name is Frank and he is on 352.467.0270. I usually go to Parksdale but they sell Radiance and this guy had Sensation (for Sensation UF says The ripe fruit of ‘Florida127’ have excellent flavor and aroma. but for Radiance they say moderate acid content with a balanced flavor so I opted for Sensation) This gentleman raises turkeys, not to eat but just because they are so beautiful, and he sells them. He has different kinds of turkeys from all over the country. He also sells peach trees for $20 and $35, and in Jan he gets bare root peach trees and sells them for $10 each. So I just had a lovely day with my husband. It is wonderful to read the posts and see your garden as beautiful as ever. I know how hard you work to keep it tip top, it really shows. Tina
