Thank you, thank you, thank you! You've def. helped me weed out the no-go's and I'm going to order samples today. My3dogs - the color is Jonesboro Cream. It does tend to lean towards green on my monitor too, IRL I wish it would go green just a hair more but it's pretty much a warm tan. It's often lumped into an orange category as an undertone. Can't say I see that though. If I were to repaint (which I AM NOT :O)!) to get it perfect I would do it SW Wool Skein. Roobear - what can I say?! Thank you so much! Yaya - I hear what you're saying about the tea stain and it's funny that you mention that because I was just wondering the same thing this past week about tea staining upholstery fabric. Once the sample of #7 arrives I will try to tea stain it if it appears too white. Has anyone tea dyed fabric and then used it to upholster something or make a pillow? Aren't those cabinets wonderful?!

Lipton You have a lovely kitchen - you have admitted your afraid of color ;) I would suggest adding dashes of "temporary" color until you find what you like & feel comfortable with. I know you stated you wanted to steer clear of orange - I'll suggest go out of your comfort zone - Put several bowls of oranges in different locations - scour your home for anything orange - even if it is not "kitcheny" place it - leave it. Once you have left the orange palette in place for awhile, remove it and move on to a blue palette - The kitchen just needs some softening and color - re-painting the wall color is a good idea - and appears it would be relatively easy to do. Once you find the color that suit you - start slowly incorporating them - Fabric shade, some nice runner type rugs, cushions for the seats - Enameled cast iron pot sitting on the stove, a new tea kettle, plants in cache pots, linen dishtowels - Another option is to purchase samples of new hardware for the cabinets - this is a fun and easy way to provide new life to a kitchen - you have many options - Best of luck - Start small and continue to move out of your comfort zone you will be surprised!

Thanks everyone for their suggestions! I appreciate it! The chandelier is actually from the previous owner. It should be 29 inches or 21 above the table. I'll have to check my notes. I hate it, but it matches the four other ones they have in the house. I was thinking about school house lights for our kitchen and maybe a bell jar in the foyer. Anyway, I already have replacement in the garage. It's one I bought for the house I was thinking we were going to buy. That was four years ago, mind you. :) It's a nickel finish plain one with exagerated arms. Kichler I think, before you started seeing them at HD or Lowes. I love that beadboard idea up the walls. Would looks so pretty. I'm trying to get my husband to let me paint the trim as we type. He is a guy and like most guys.... no paint on wood! I just got him to let me paint the cabs. i had to entice him by telling him we were getting new countertops! I've been looking for things for the inside. I bought the soup pot with laddle the other day. You'd think I could find lots of substantial things to go into that cabinet, but I guess I'm pickier than I thought. I wanted to keep it all white things. I'll have to scour ebay more. I did have a small cabinet there on that wall under the picture. But, it was hard to get around and sit down. If you can think of a thinner cabinet online, let me know. I think that wall is too bland too. I didn't think about the peices being more masculine, but you're exactly right! I found that tablecloth at marshalls for three dollars and I needed something that day (did I mention we have a two year old?) So, is it a consensus that I should lose tablecloths and stick with just some placemats? I'd like to just have the table, but I'm afraid with a two year old that it will be all scratched up by tonight. The artwork in there came from my mom's house. She bought two of them and decided she didn't like them. I had this great original art piece there. My husband hated it, so we went back to this boring thing. He likes boring stuff. And, not changing things.... hates change! I like to change everything every month or so. I'll have to start looking for different artwork. I'll be on the lookout for a new rug. Do you think that a dash and albert rug would look good or something pottery barnish (we have another pb one in the ajoining room.) I saw an 8x10 medium grey wool oriental at big lots of all places. Would that be too masculine? Maybe that grey rug and some porcelain blue on the walls? (keep your fingers crossed about the painting of the trim!) I'll see what colors are in it if it's still there. @ginatay124 I completely agree about the pillows. There is a throw in the basket under the coffee table, but it’s an ehhh one. The coffee table is fairly new but I did buy it used to refinish the top. I have a qt. of Urbane Bronze and I need to sand and paint it. Previously we had an upholstered ottoman. It is now downstairs because of water cups spilling on it, etc. Our daughter is 8 so this is just easier for now. Floor lamp is a definite yes but clueless there. My husband has said repeatedly we need one, but i don’t know what style goes and does’t look like an afterthought. Any ideas? We also will need new curtains because those are off white/beige. But I’ll buy white ones unless someone here says emphatically no 😜
