Comments (16)Thank you all for looking and commenting. Brad,, I am going to try the sand. If it works I will be blessing you forever. Debra, I fell in love with your blooms on Stenciled Infusion. and so, I have it. And , it is is lovely. This is the first year Bullfrog Kisses had put up several scapes, Nancy, but I like it....it is a huge bloom. Kate, it has already reached 90 here...and yes, we have to be early from now on probably with the heat...they are talking possible record heat. Sherry, I think everything is early this year. Maryl, PC usually does well for me, and I like it, it is huge. I hope you are staying safe...don't know if you are in the weather zone, but feared it. Thank you, Julia, I love garden shots when people post them, and I like to take them to get that view of what the garden is doing. Thank you, Laura. It is the first year for me, and I won't have much bloom, but it is the "sleep year " for us. kay...See MoreLet’s see your best daylily photography!

Comments (29)RaeAnna, I will for sure! That arbor has been in the works for so long that if I actually ever get it completed you’d better believe I will be insufferably showing it off. Lilyfinch, thank you! Earth Angel wants to be much bigger than that spot allows, but she’s worth wrangling for those blooms and repeats really well for me there, which keeps that area interesting when Eden is resting. You should definitely get another! I have two, one on either side of that arbor entrance and it’s all of my littles’ favorite rose. They are always wanting to run out there and smell it. There’s so much info out there on the internet nowadays that I feel pretty confident attempting to build most anything. I did the entire fence by myself and even learned how to do concrete and stone mosaics online so I could lay the path. But there’s something about this arbor that’s really intimidating me. I want it to be an arch that mirrors the architecture of the front of the house, and I can’t settle on what method I’m going to use. I tend to obsessively plan to a fault and that’s part of the problem. I need to just bite the bullet and get started and whatever happens, happens! I’d love to see your birdhouse! There’s nothing like the pride you feel when you’ve done it yourself. Vapor, thank you so much! Please copy the combo, I’d love to see what you do with it! And thank you for the compliments, the house exterior and garden has been in the works for a long time, so comments like “utter charm” just thrill me to the bone in a way I can’t adequately articulate. It’s been so much work over years and so frustrating at points, and of course I doubt my choices sometimes like we all do and worry it’s all “too weird” for a front yard in a land of lawns, so positive feedback means a lot to me....See MoreColors, flowers and plants, please let’s see them February, 2021
Comments (72)We may have just had two more inches of snow, and three feet on the ground, but it's spring and summer indoors. I haven't named it yet, but this is a baby pomegranate tree, about six weeks old. It's in a 2 1/2 pot, receiving sunlight at the window and artificial light from sunset to bedtime and my wakeup time until the sun strikes it. It's just sprouted from a pomegranate seed from a pomegranate from the grocery store for sheer fun and I have no expectations for it. The Ageratum That Will Not Die. Fed organically (20%) and synthetically, it just keeps blooming more nicely as the winter wears on. A "struggling" tropical hibiscus started in...November, I think? Named "Brandy." That's her individual name, not the cultivar. She was struggling a bit, but has recovered recently with keeping the soil moist (there's some cyanobacteria mats on the soil right now), and feeding a lot more than I normally would in February since she's under lights 18 hours a day....See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
