I am not a privacy nut but that is too open for me and a cover for the BBQas would be nice . We have a Grill-zeebo like this we added lighting to it . We grill all winter in Canada.We used it to begin our outdoor kitchen my hubby does competion BBQso we have a Webber for BBQ and a larg e grill for other stuff and a 3 burner camp stove so we ended up with 2 of the grillzeebos . I think trees are great at controlling the wind if planted at the proper space and make sure they are trees that grow not to high sothey actuall work as wind beaks so no tall trunks .

Thank you all. This was very helpful. Our indoor kitchen is pretty accessible. I think given the wildlife population, countertops would be just unappealing, not to mention require a lot of work every time we wanted to use them, (think, squirrels, raccoons, other animals, and hawks, owls, crows etc.) I am going to skip the outoor kitchen and get a better grill and invest in a nice firepit instead. The house is pretty indoor, outdoor and our kitchen is pretty large. I think it is a better use of limited resources. This discussion was extremely helpful.

Using space behind our garage where the oil tank used to be, getting a deck put in that will be roofed. Any ideas on what to do with it or a layout for an outdoor kitchen? We can get electrics brought to it, no water though. It's 4*3.6m

you've got a great blank canvas. wondering too, are you calling the ceiling the soffit? a dark ceiling will bring it in, darken the space. I would paint the ceiling a very light blue, like a porch ceiling Haint Blue. the sky is the limit on tiling options. so much depends on your budget. Yes, I would tile the bases on the table and cabinet, and the TV wall, but thinking through the choices so they are complimentary. Create a vision board of colors you love, it's an outdoor space, I think you could do something different from your interior space, others would think it need to be cohesive. It's your home, do what you like.
