I used a board-mounted box pleated valance on the box bay in my dining room. I screwed the board right into the soffit above the window. The way mine was framed, there wasn't enough room to hang a rod high enough to cover the top of the window trim. I made long panels of the same fabric for my living room windows. I used honeycomb shades on all the windows (not room darkening, but I did consider them). Most of the time I leave them up, but we don't have a guest room and the sleep sofa is in the living room, so privacy is an issue when we have overnight guests. Totally Confused

I would do shades on the windows with a specialty shaped shade on the arch. Honeycomb shades and Roman shades are available in room darkening and arched shapes. Since your bedroom faces neighbors, I would also look into top-down/bottom-up for the shades on the lower windows. You can let light into the room without your neighbors being able to see in. Shutters are available in specialty shapes, but the louvers are on the arch would need to be in a stationary position - either open or closed.

Ready pre mades will come in 96" .then jump up to 108'. If you add a rod depending on the rods circumference size will roughly add 2" to the length. so 98" or 110". This means 108" will have a large break on the floor and 96" will mean the rod will need to be mounted a bit lower. As far as width you have enough on each side of the window to mount the rod easily a minimum of 6" outside the casing on each side but I recommend more so that the inside lead of your panels are just covering the casing to allow more light when your shades are open. For fullness you could go with a double width for ready made or a width and a half for custom to give you a nice lush fullness while still sitting off the window. I think it would look nicer to go as high as possible which means if you purchase ready made getting them hemmed. I don't know anyone in your area that does custom. Of course in the end it also depends on what your overall Budget is. Half Priced Drapes is ready made but you can order a custom size from them and overall their quality is good. You can get samples of the fabrics from them too. If you have a decorator fabric store like a Calico Corners Or Printers Alley they will have sources to have drapes custom made and guide you.

You have such a nice view I can see why you would want to retain it during the day. I'd mount one rod from wall to wall, and use drapery panels. One panel on each end and wider panels in the middle around the sliders so you can pull them closed. Use a lightweight lined fabric so you can get teh fullness you need without taking up too much space. Don't use shutters. They block a LOT of light even when open, and you would never have a clear view outdoors.
