Comments (2)Ed, its too late in your zone to plant it now and absolutely know it will make it thru the winter. Unless you really mulch it well. Your hardy hibiscus will easily make it through the winter next year. Just keep it in your sun room or porch til the spring and then plant it outside. It might bloom, but probably not. The rose of sharon also, very hardy, You can plant that out next spring too if you want. And, Patchwork Farm has dozens of varieties of blueberries. Most of the other vendors carry rare and unusual plants. This sale is particularly good for the plant connoisseur. Comments (9)it is not uncommon for flowers to change color from the moment they open.. until the moment they rot off the plant... the color change would be even more apparent at dusk.. note that pic taken in full blinding sun at mid day.. wash out also... try going out there in the evening... they wont look anything like they do in your pix.... its all about how your eye processes and registers the light.. in the olden days.. a camera nut would take about aperture.. how wide open the camera eye is/was.... imo.. this is part of the enjoyment of gardening.. every new day.. is a new mystery.. not every observation is an emergency to be FIXED... but we can sure have fun talking about it... ken...See Morerouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a)
