water propagation of multiple jade stems

tamiko arbuckle

I have jade stems that i have cut from a large jade plant from my mom. the stems are large, medium and small (about 25 stems).

i put them all in water vases 6 days ago to propagate them. my questions are:

  • is it okay to have multiple stems in one vase? if not is it too late to separate the stems into their own vases?
  • i am now concerned after reading too many articles that the larger stems didn’t scab over enough, now that they are in water, is there anything i can do to correct it? can i make a new cutting from the stem and let it scab over again?

i appreciate your help. i have never done this before. my mom passed away and i have a jade from her that is decades old but needed a lot of help, thus the many cuttings. i really want to propagate these stems so i can share the new plants and keep some for myself.

thank you!
