Shower Curtain Rod size for U Shaped...

Hi,

I have a bathtub in the middle of the bathroom. I can't put a tension rod or even an L shaped rod because there is no wall to the left to connect it to and on the right there is a window and I can't connect a rod there.

I'm trying to create my own rod, like a long C shape. Where do I let the rod end measurement-wise? My bathtub is 150cm long with an extra area we created to put stuff on like shampoo etc (you see that in the photo) and that area is 26cm. Then it's 69cm wide.

Should the shower curtain hang all the way at the edge of the 69cm? And should it go until that shelf on the right at 176cm?

I'm unsure.

Maybe a ceiling mounted rod? This site has a few options.

Mine is this from home depot it is aleast 15 years old. they have lots of other options.

I just had installed an L shaped rod made by Kingston Brass. Yes, it requires two shower curtains. Think about where you want the support rod. I had mine positioned in the center of the curve so the water coming out of the handheld won't spray between the two curtains.

I am in Sweden dealing with an old tension rod that only pulls apart. It won't shorten. Thanks to these posts I pulled everything apart and sent the rod with the spring down the tube and it worked. The curtains are up in the kitchen now! Thank you everyone!

Hi G.S. I haven't attempted to return mine to Bed, Bath and Beyond yet... we were not as careful as we should have been opening it, and it will be tough to repackage but I'm going to try. If you can figure out a way to additionally reinforce the setup, please let me know. Maybe we'll give it another go. In my opinion, the problem is that the anchor screws are just so tiny. I noticed the hotel set had just slightly larger, meatier anchor screws. I'll be interested to hear more of your experience... Lynn

DedTired - It came from Signature Hardware; I had read some negative reports about Moen so I didn't choose them. It has a five-year warranty. I have stainless rings, with the round bearings. Perhaps I should check with them to see if I need to use plastic rings. Moni - I love that curtain. Fun2BHere - I think I'd better pass on the gymnastics, too. The brackets may be strong, but the screws can withstand only so much stress!

@roarah thanks but I don't live in your country.

and my photo shows I cannot put an L rod unfortunately. :-(

There should be a kit designed for clawfoot tubs that would work for that beautiful tub. I'd keep the shower curtain fairly short, if possible.
