I've decided to start this thread at the suggestion of jwvideo. I want to purchase a GE Monogram oven with French doors and wonder if any of you have one and how you like it or not. After doing all of the research, I found a local retailer that carried this particular oven which allowed me to examine it in person. It looked very nice; the handles were thick and sturdy made of heavy duty stainless, well designed; clearly a cut above the standard Cafe oven. The oven had lighting which lit up the back of the oven. The controls were knobs - not an electronic touch pad. The sales man was worthless and knew nothing about the oven only to say it was overpriced. Nice to have someone like that selling products in a retail situation! Looking at it "live" so to speak, I noticed the racks to be relatively thin and light weight. I managed to speak to the manager who was knowledgeable. When I voiced my concern over the thinness of the racks he explained GE knew how to make lightweight strong metal that withstands high temperatures, i.e. they make airplane engines. I was impressed with the fact the racks as well as the pull out extensions with ball bearings stay in during the cleaning cycle. I did note a tube of graphite comes with the oven to shoot at the ball bearings after self clean cycle or periodically, I forget now how often. The interior is 5 cu ft and you can get large sheet pans into the oven. Of course it has convection, the self clean cycle and a steam clean cycle. I believe it had a proofing cycle. Over all, I was impressed. It does require some rework of my existing rough opening to accept this oven. Thank you in advance for your input. Inga

I currently have the Monogram Wall oven (since Oct 2015) with the single pull down door but my new build (ready Nov 2018) will have the French door style. The oven is awesome now and can only expect great things from the newer model. Pairing with the Monogram Advantium 240V and warming drawer as I have now. Considered moving the Advantium below the wall oven for ease of operation with the doors but all the literature advises that it cannot be done. The photo is off my current configuration. The only change in my new2 build will be the French door configuration on the oven. Counter level would have been better but the doors are easy to open ...even one -handed as opening one side only allows the other door to open itself. :) Third world problem....LOL

I think a microwave can work above a wall oven as long as it is just a single stacked wall oven. It looks like the microwave would still be lower than the very common "above the range" mounting so I wouldn't think it would be too high for most people. If you google it there are a ton of photos. One I saw also had a small slideout metal "cutting board" between so you had an extra surface to set hot things on, which I thought was a great idea. If I ever get to do my kitchen remodel (in like 5 years, haha I hope, I plan to do similar except with a side swing door oven.

To those who asked: Yes….You can easily remove the copper cuff from the handle. We bought stainless Wolf/Sub-Zero/Cove appliances with “Pro“ handles for our kitchen, but wanted the amazing Cafe Advantium microwave (with Pro handles) for the coffee bar area in the kitchen. We do love the Advantium. However, we were disappointed the emblem/cuff was copper instead of stainless, and there isnt even a stainless cuff option available for special order. The company claims this copper cuff was intentionally designed & ”jewelry inspired”. The copper cuff clashed with our other Pro handles, so we removed the cuff in five minutes with two allen wrenches. Looks much better now and matches our other appliance handles. Monogram/Cafe should offer the option of a discrete stainless cuff. Not everyone wants ”jewelry” on their appliance handles.
