I think that a very large piece of art over the sectional would look fabulous. Just make sure that it is sized appropriately. Use some tape to mark off various sizes of pretend art to see what fits. Then if you post pics, we can comment on size and placement. I would not put a mirror there as it will only reflect the TV. On the blank wall, maybe a tall cabinet that doesn't stick out too far and that can be used for storage and display. Good luck.

You can use one very large piece of art, or three medium sized pieces that work together behind the sectional. Then do something different for the empty wall space between the sectional and the kitchen. You could use a tall armoire, or a buffet table with a large mirror, large decorative item, or grouping of art above it. If you placed a buffet there, you could add a table lamp since it doesn't appear that you have any ambient lighting in the space. Another option is a sofa table behind that side of the sectional, which would also give you a place for lamps. I would also add a narrow end table to the far end of the sectional, and a floor lamp where your plant is currently sitting.

Great start to the room! It makes sense to me to divide the space into just two areas due to the size.

I would pull the sofa towards the kitchen a bit as there really isn't space for a table. Add a sofa table that has storage (on the kitchen side) with a couple of lamps on the top. Then, add a LARGE, colorful piece of art over the sectional. Center the tv console on the wall, and lower the tv a bit so that it relates to the console and is at a better height for viewing. Add a small table and lamp to the right of the sofa (by the window). Switch out the plant for something much taller, or group three plants of various heights in that corner....match the pots to colors in the art.

There are several things you could do, but a set of two or three prints running horizontally above the sectional would be nice to add some color to the space. Add some pillows to the sectional to pull in some color. Place some accessories on the console. I'd like to see the plant get moved onto the console on the left side to add balance since the tv doesn't appear to be centered over the console. Then add a larger plant by the sliding door.

I like your idea of adding some storage in the space between sofa and kitchen. I would make it tall like Ikea's Billy Bookcases or one of their tall Pax storage units.

How's your lighting? Doesn't look like there is a lot of room for a floor lamp or table next to the sectional, but you could do wall sconces behind the sectional on either side of the prints. Keep the total span of it around 2/3's the length of the sectional.

Add a couple of chairs out on your patio with some pillows, a plant and a throw to help pull that eye out and make the space feel larger. It's a lovely apartment and you've got a great foundation to work with.

Depending on your interests, a buffet, wine table, or other functional/stylish storage piece would be great near the kitchen. Does your counter have an overhang to accommodate your bar stools? If not you could consider a small bistro table for that area depending on the size.

Would not buy art just to fill a space -- only buy art that "speaks " to you. What represents your interests that you might want to make a part of your surroundings?

Treat the wall over the sectional as one wall and the wall over the dining/bar area as a different wall for purposes of decorating. Until you find large art you truly like and want a part of your home, a single long (not longer than the sofa is wide) white floating wall shelf over sofa -- or pair of shorter ones) could hold some decorative pieces you already have.

Just beware filling up open shelving to the point it becomes visual "clutter".

Lower the TV, get art for the sofa that is at least as large as the TV is. Consider installing ceiling mounted track for draperies that will stack back over the window on the right.

If your going to add a sofa table next to the sectional to act as a divider and to hold lamps. Why not make it a drop leaf table that way if you have company over you have somewhere to eat or play cards? Just a thought! Have fun with it❤️
