Yes, we have another dining room adjacent to our kitchen (see attached) When we purchased the house, the shelf that is up against the wall was sticking out from the wall in a peninsula postion (see pictures 3 & 4). We thought it was attached until my husband leaned against it and it moved. Prior to that, we were trying to figure out how to have a dining room to seat at least 10 and not be on the white carpet (we entertain family a lot). When the shelf moved, it opened up the room where the fireplace is to then become a dining room adjacent to the kitchen. We also have a walkout family/game room downstairs so no need for a TV in the living room. My husband would like a library - that's where that idea came from. We were starting one on the built in shelves in the now dining room, but it looked awkward and out of place.  Our style is modern farmhouse and my ideabooks are from when we were looking for houses before we purchased in November. I'd see one thing I liked in a picture and I'd save it. The home we ended up buying is a totally different layout than ones I saved ideas for.  I love the chairs and have been trying to figure out how to "country-ft" them. Pillows has been my answer.

You say you have a LR and a TV room which space are you showing.? To get real help we nned measurements of the space and the furniture . I think right now it looks bare and uninviting with art on the walls and a couple of pillows the space will feel different and I agree if this is the LR space then the chairs turned to face the sofa would be a much better choice but I need a to scale floor plan of the whole living space with all measurements clearly marked . I have no idea where each space is at the moment.

Oh I haven’t forgot don’t worry :) It’s just that I haven’t really begun the “remodel” as I am still “reviving” Nothing that is worth showing as a “finished product”. I have so far: Repiped the house from galvanized pipe to new copper. - Hooked up to city water. (So I finally have a toilet. So the quality of life has jumped leaps just by that alone) Removed the old oil furnace replaced with gas. and installed air conditioning Removed all overgrown foliage and trees overhanging the house. Now I am working on re-wiring the house and adding soffit lighting. Once that is done I will be replacing the insulation of the ceilings and replacing the drywall. Then the fun can begin!

Not sure where you live, but there are some great finds on FB marketplace for furnishings in some areas. Leery of bedbugs on upholstered furniture, but I guess there are ways to make sure you're not getting them. Ikea is a good inexpensive option and people seem to be really happy with their slipcovered pieces. I would also get a nice inexpensive rug. There are so many online sites with great choices and a few you can use their visualizer to place the rug in your room to see how it will look. I'd probably put the most money in a comfortable reading chair, like a recliner. So many of them these days don't look like recliners and are very comfy. Not sure why faux wood blinds or if you mean venetian style/mini blinds or roll down shades? Whatever you get, I would make sure they are opaque at night (solar shades are not opaque), since you will be a woman alone. Dogs are good, but I'd want to be sure no one can see in from outside. I hope you'll post as you find and furnish your little house, It looks very sweet and perfect for your purposes. So much nicer to spend time there than in a car for hours each day.
