Can you plug extra faucet holes without looking tacky?

I'm looking for vanities in our new home. I'm having trouble finding them to fit our budget and that are pre-drilled for single or center-set faucets. So many are set for 8-in spread. Does anyone have advice to fill or cap the extra holes without looking cheap or tacky?

I don't think you can in the bathroom. I know there are ways for the kitchen faucet (soap pump, garbage disposal button, etc.).

Why not purchase an 8inch wide spread faucet instead?

We have super hard water that leaves a mineral crust around everything. I have small kids and don't do frequent deep cleaning, so the simpler the better. I also prefer the look of single hole faucets.

Try a hardware stores plumbing section. They typically have a variety of plugs in different materials. You would probably do best at a mom & pops hardware store or a plumbing supply house rather than a big box store for something like that. Time to McGyver up!

I can't imagine why anyone would drill the faucet hole so far from the sink unless it was specifically asked for because the customer wanted to use a humongous faucet. They made a mistake and should cover what it takes to repair properly even if it requires replacing the counter, but it would be nice if you could work out something that costs them less than that. Is the faucet 6" from the side of the sink. Did you plan to have an air switch for a disposer? If you don't have a hole for an air switch already, perhaps that hole can be used for the air switch and a new one can be drilled for the faucet. I think that the only way to fill a faucet hole and make it look right is if you have something else you want to put in the hole such as an air switch.

We installed the Brizo Talo Touch faucet on our Farmsink and the smaller version (also touch) on our prepsink, this past August. I picked the venetian bronze finish. I love both faucets and I am not sorry I spent the money. They look beautiful and work extremely well. The touch feature is great for cooking. It also attracts the most attention of almost all of the components of our kitchen, by visitors. Everyone wants to play with the fancy new toy!

I couldn't find what the paint grade ones are. I'm not using the pocket holes on super exposed surfaces, they will be on the back whenever possible and on the insides and undersides when I can't avoid it. So they will really only be visible in certain areas when you are looking up. Because of this and because it's in a closet, it's not the end of the world if they don't match exactly but I'd rather not really see them at all. I've had good luck with matching plugs (in pine) being nearly invisible. There are better ways to assemble it without it being visible, but I don't really want to spend the extra time. As it is this is like 8 sheets of plywood for the project, and is going to take me probably all winter (I have 10 month old twins, so free time is not something I have in abundance, haha).

Hopefully someone has a suggestion or you come across a countertop you like that fits a single faucet.

You aren't cost effectively filling vanity faucet holes inconspicuously.

There are plate covers that will stretch across the space and cover the holes. They do look intentional. But they ultimately leave you with a larger surface for mineral deposits to build up, so it's a personal choice if this would be preferable to just using two faucets.

I also prefer a single hole, so would suggest you look for vanity bases without the tops, and buy the top separately, so you can choose your preferred faucet placement.
