No; I'm not committed to any particular table. we have a hand-me-down circle table that has a leaf making it into an oval. I just drew up what we will live with until our budget recovers from the build! :-)The dining room is just beyond the refrigerator, so we will eat there and at the breakfast bar. The kitchen table is for homework, family games, and puzzles that no one ever makes me put away so I can set the table!

This is so confusing post some pics and a floor plan then we might be able to help.

It depends on how you are changing the kitchen - are you reconfiguring the space at all? Just replacing cabinets? or Just painting and replacing countertop? What is the room through the doorway to the right? Any thought to getting rid of both islands (because the two tier breakfast bar is actually an island, yes?) and replacing with one larger island? Any way to move the cooktop off the island and put it somewhere where you can have proper ventilation? If you post your plans along with floor plan of the room and adjoining room (with measurements), those who are all about kitchens, will give you some great feedback.
