Hi. I didn't see this last post until now and I am sorry I did not answer your question right away. I usually don't do 'hit and run' postings. You image hosted pics are gone now and I do not remember exactly what your AC unit/garden looked like. I don't know how to post pictures so I can't post mine but I will try to describe it. My AC is at the corner of my house, so two sides were within view and one side was against the house and the far side was against the neighbors yard. I got two, tall trellis and just put one in front of the AC and one along the side. The trellis are at right angles to each other. I didn't care about the view from my neighbors yard. If I did, I suppose I could have added a third trellis and made a "U" shape out of them, going all around the AC unit, but I didn't want it to look like I had a tall 'box' in my yard growing vines. If my neighbors don't like looking at my AC unit, they can put up a fence. LOL. I have them far enough away from the AC unit to let air go around and the vines hide everything - clematis on one trellis and morning glory on the other give different bloom times. Using a TALL trellis makes the viewer's eyes draw up. If one uses a short 36" high fence or trellis it tends to make the viewer wonders what is behind it. Also one can usually look over a short one and see the top of the AC unit. A short trellis LOOKS like you are hiding something. The height doesn't "fit" with any design plan. A tall trellis looks more like it was put there to add beauty. Nearby, in another garden bed, on the other side of the walkway, I have a pyarmid trellis, also with morninglories. This unifies things and makes it look like a 'plan'. I also have another flat trellis on the other side of my yard near the garage, but not against it, that I grow climbing nastutians on. Right now I have a low wide trellis with vines hiding my garbage can and I am thinking about going with a tall one maybe. If I remember your pics correctly you have and AC unit in the corner of your yard near a fence. You could put one trellis on say 'side A' and in front of 'side B', leaving alone sides 'C and D' that are facing the fence. For balance, plant a couple low growing things in front of the trellis so that it blends and flows with the rest of your garden planting. Maybe add some statuary nearby or put another trellis somewhere in you yard to make your AC unit trellis look like part of an overall plan. I hope I was able to make things clear and convey how my trellis thing works. It is hard to describe in words something that pic would show. I gotta get me one of those digital cameras and teach my old self how to use it. :)

i setup an additional tank for my compressor this weekend. fitted with 2 female couplers and a pressure gauge. i plan on using it when doing lots of work with air tools. my compressor is a small one and just does not have the capacity for extended jobs, so i figure adding the second tank AFTER the regulator gives me more volume of air before the compressor turns on, thus allowing the compressor to cool longer between cycles. it may turn out to not work as desired for all apllications, but it was free. we had an old tank at work tha twas being thrown out, along with the couplers, tees and the guage. the tank came off a dehydrator, never had moisture in it, so i took it to try my idea. i tested it yesterday, and it worked fine for the test. my impact usually gets the compressor running after taking off just 2 lug nuts. i took 3 off and put them back on without the compressor kicking in. when it did, it only had to run for an additional 30 seconds to fill the second tank to 90 PSI, so i hope it will work fine. the tank is rated to 150 PSI, but since it is after the regulator it will never see more than 90 PSI and that is all i felt comfrotable testing it at. i may run a long hose to it and test it higher, but then againg why should i? there is no drain on it, but there is another plugged outlet that i can remove to drain it. since it will hardly ever be used, this is not an issue.

Hi all, Here is my $0.02, a pressure gauge(cheap) to test the pressure at your house outlets is a great idea. This is a check for your house pressure regulator in usually in your garage. The pressure for the house should be 40 to 60 psi with this regulator. If the house pressure is higher than 60 psi the house regulator can be adjusted (screw adjustment). Your house appliances can't take high pressure. If the the pressure can't be adjusted replace house regulator. If your system comes off the line from the street it is before the house pressure regulator and needs to be regulated separately from the house for pressure to what ever your needs are. Most irrigation systems for large yards utilize the this higher pressure side to decrease the need for extra zones which is more economical. The drip tapes, drip hoses and garden hoses usually have an operating pressure listed. Next splitters divide the volume of water or flow into how many branches you have. To find flow from a faucet fill a 5 gal bucket from the faucet and record the time to fill to 5 gal. Calculate the flow or gpm or gph. This is the total amount you have to divide into splitters for your given pressure. Each hole, emitter,sprinkler head uses up some system pressure as the water moves down the line. If the pressure loss along the tape is greater than your system pressure you will be over watering some plants to get the right amount to the plants at the end of the line no matter how many splitters you have. This latter info is necessary to design automatic systems or if you wish to know the amount of water you are giving plants and don't want to take a long time watering your system by hand. BTW I thought it was City or County code to use a back flow prevention device. They are usually part of the valve system shut-off. I highly recommend having a BFP in your system. If there is a broken line in your garden and is flooding and someone in your house starts a bath or shower which changes the pressure at the faucets the dirty water can be sucked back into the house contaminating the house piping not to mention the city system. Similar to a hose end sprayer taking up fertilizer from the attached jar. Hope this was helpful. Aloha

$7000 does seem high unless he is quoting higher end units. The indoor coil needs to be replaced to match the outdoor unit. Plus it is what usually is leaking anyway. Since the indoor coil is built into most blower units, chances are it would be easier just to replace all. Today's higher efficiency coils tend not to fit in older air handlers.
