What weird things make your hair stand on end?
Comments (37)This has been a fun read. Lat week when I was grocery shopping, looking through the meat section, a man and his son were there, the son,( about 8 years old, had a large plastic dinosoare,he dropped it a few times, got bored waiting for his dad, so decided he would take the tail of his toy,and poke it into all the meat, not being content with that, he starts poking his finger into the meat, all while the dad was right next to him. I said to the dad," Your son just poked his toy into all the meat," he says to me,"Ya, whatever!Grabs a few steaks and walks away.I pulled all the meat, and gave it to the butcher, who,I hope, threw it out.I noticed, he did buy the meat his son "played" with. My SIL. took her young daughter grocery shopping one day, they always stopped for a bubblegum ice cream cone when they were done, this day, her daughter was not behaving, and :demanded: they go get an ice cream, now! When they were done shopping, she brought her daughter home, then went back out, alone, when she came home, she was chewing some bubble gum from the ice cream, her daughter wanted to know where she got it, she told her, "Well, we always stop for an ice cream, but you were so naughty, when I brought you home, I went and got one for my self"It sure was good, had extra gum in it this time, as she blew a bubble. She never has trouble with her after that, I thought that was brilliant. Not much bothers me,although, I can relate to the swinging bridge, when my children were small, the husband, thought it would be fun to " swing" the bridge, some things are just Not funny. To this day, I hate them, also, my youngest does not like to drive over bridges,he don't know why. Ha! cAROL...See MoreWeird Thing Happening to Starts
Comments (5)Most of the images show water shortage. Not disease. Perhaps occurred suddenly, as in windy; extreme high temps that burst in on a hot spell; very low humidity; too small a pot (are they in pots?)...See MoreWhat would you do with this weird thing next to the fireplace?
Comments (1)Hi Daniel. You might love the look of covering the entire outside wall with brick veneers such as seen here (one of our antique brick veneers): It'll give you an authentic brick look (because they are, after all, authentic bricks!), while they are easy to install like tiles. This video shows how easy it is to install them....See MoreWeird thing happened (medical)
Comments (53)Hi there, foodonastump. I joined the site just so I could respond to your post here and let you know that I had the same thing happen to me last week with the addition of shortness of breath and heart palpitations/fluttering that had been going on for a few months. The fluttering and shortness of breath had begun to increase and then one evening, I became suddenly dizzy/lightheaded w/a sudden severe headache. Those two made me go to the ER just like you. And just like you, they did all the usual blood tests, EKG, chest x-ray, CT brain scan, and an MRI of my head, echocardiogram, and also checked the veins in my neck via ultrasound. Also like you, they found nothing. They admitted me for observation and kept me on a heart monitor for 2.5 days. Even though I continued to feel the fluttering as usual, the monitor didn't pick up on any unusual heart activity. A few days after I was back at home, I had a tele-visit appointment with my PCP. To prepare for that visit, I logged into the hospital mychart portal to look over all the test results and couldn't believe that I found something that all those hospital doctors (4 of them) had missed, which was that my hemoglobin (iron) was low. I have a history of anemia but what the docs missed was that all of the symptoms that I complained about could easily be attributed to that. That made me feel much more satisfied to have some kind of closure, as opposed to being released from the hospital and told nothing is wrong. You don't have those kinds of events for no reason. I'm suggesting that you log into your mychart at your hospital's website and check over all your test results. It could be something as simple as low iron, like me. Or something as simple as low potassium, which also causes lightheadedness and headaches. The chart will indicate normal ranges for all the corresponding result figures, so you don't have to be concerned with knowing - or not knowing - how to read the results, and you can just google the meaning of the terms you're not familiar with. And consider that just the alarm of your sudden lightheadedness could alone be the cause of your blood pressure spiking the way it did. So that just might be the extent of their relationship....See MoreJoanne
