I love it. It reminds of a wonderful high class coffee bar in Bologna, Italy — Terzi — that has a tiny room in the back.

Have you tried putting the mirror where the art work is now, over the table, and hang the art work opposite the mirror, so the mirrior reflects the artwork? You might need professional help hanging the mirror securely

The blue banquette might not be the best color, but before you do anything drastic, swap out those drapes. The gray is clashing with the blue and dragging down the space. If you don't need blackout shades (and it looks like you don't since the drape is tied up in one of the photos), maybe try a sheer creamy linen (to tie in with the chairs) or you could really lean into the European cafe look and try a cafe curtain or something lacy and antique. And then a pillow or two on the banquette that pulls from the chair color would break up the blue.

Regarding the art, it's also probably not helping pull the room together--it's kind of loose for such a crisp space and it doesn't exactly match your blue banquette. A vintage-looking black and white photo would be stunning there. But if you do keep the painting, hang it a bit lower so it ties in with the table better. Don't paint the chairs--the light wood softens the space and also feels vintage European. Try pulling the table and chairs a little out from the walls so they've got room to breathe and are maybe closer to being centered on the pendant light. And finally, please for those of us who are nuts, please rotate the table so the veins in the table go the same direction as the veins on the floor!

@Hannah the cafe curtain idea is interesting. I had a Tulip Roman shade in the back of my mind but the cafe curtain could be cool and less permanent/expensive.

I actually have a black and white photograph on a different wall that now that you mention might look nice above the table. It may be too small but I’ll try it.

And i will definitely rotate the table - that’s an easy fix!!

That would be a great way to get a feel for the b&w. And I like the cream-colored roman shade as well.

I’m just going to push back on the claim on that changing the curtain to something lacy and twee is going to make it look more ”European”. What you’ve got going is actually very sophisticated Europe, including the dusty blue and the brownish gray with the wonderful b&w floor. But do whatever pleases you. You’re off to a great start with great elements

I would replace drape with woven shade. I am concerned about putting the bench seat in front of heater/AC? What is that? I think acrylic chairs with gold leg system would look great and fit better too. Big art too big. Love your big mirror. Is that from Anthropologie? Those are really heavy. Black and white photo is cool. Works better size wise. Bistro chairs would work too if you want the French cage look.

Your corner is lovely and can handle a large bold piece.

A white roman shade might be a nice crisp but elegant cover for the window, allows light but provide privacy.
