Thanks, I didn't know Romans were that hard and precise to make. I do want something that hangs and works well and doesn't look "home made". I also didn't know that hand sewn individual rings were better than the tapes. JC Penny had about 5 fabrics in each blind to choose from for lower prices. There was one book that had quite a few more but even the person helping me was not at all impressed with the choices. It was when I went to the custom line that these prices came up. I am glad I am not the only one who thinks they are just too high. Boy I thought I had sticker shock when I found out faucets can cost 900.00 or more. I may look into local custom shops and individuals, also. I just am not sure how to find someone good. I would not be happy if they didn't fit, hang or work properly. I may even already have patterns for them. I kind of like the idea of picking out the fabric and then having someone make them if I can find someone good who wont charge that much. 250.00 I can handle, 500.00 and up I think is just more than I want to pay if I don't have to. If I can't do the custom route for under 350.00 I will probly go with one of the online sources mentioned. Smith and Noble do have some fabrics to choose from. Most are solids, but there are a couple of simple prints that might be nice. Sue

I think all of them should be uniform, so that would mean finding the best length for the shortest window and duplicating that throughout. I wouldn't do them at all in that kitchen. You have a great wooded view, and fabric will just accumulate grease and dirt. In the other room, try them at 1/4 to 1/3 of the bay window length and see how that feels on the longer windows. Use some pillow cases or scrap fabric to make a mock one you can move around to see how they look. Are these what you're considering? Custom shades through a designer should also come with an installer. Your designer should have someone she works with install these properly. Next time, find a designer who does what you pay them to.

I don't know the method yet, but I was surprised when talking to one contractor and he said the next day you can put a bathtub on the new concrete that was poured in the roman shower. I just wanted to ask on Houzz to get a ball park so I know to hire someone that knows what they are talking about. StarCraft Custom Builders above wrote 3-7 days. Do you think that sounds about right depending on the method, etc, or could it be longer? It's great to get a second opinion. I really appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your response.
