Spider mites on my cucumber plants
Comments (8)I found some Neem (70%) at my favorite local organic gardening place yesterday and blasted the little devils as soon as I got home. I haven't been out this morning yet to check on them but will say it's much easier to get under and around the leaves since I have the vines training up along a pole as well as twine. I can't imagine trying to do this on my hands and knees in the dirt either...when should I blast them again?...See MoreSpider mites, Spider mites...
Comments (13)I had them once on a ever green and before I notice a 2 ft area was dead. I asked a nursery man about it and he said you can't see spider mites. He said to put a white sheet of paper under the area and shake the plant, then rub your fingers across the paper. If there are blood smears they are spider mites....See MoreSpider mites on rose plant
Comments (7)Thanks a lot everyone. I gave her a thorough and hard spray of cold water from the shower for 3-4 minutes. I could visibly see an improvement with a lot of the mites gone. There are quite a few still left and I will repeat it everyday for the next 6-7 days. Also sprayed the underside of the leaves with diluted eucalyptus water after the spray. The mites are mostly localised near the base of the plant, so spraying that part with water results in the pot receiving a lot of water. It has good drainage but I hope that isn't a problem? Some of the leaves and flowers were damaged, but other than that it is fine. Is it OK to continue this everyday for the entire week? Thanks again for all your help - never thought a simple cold water spray would improve things that much!...See MoreHow to save Croton plant w/ droopy leaves after spider mite treatment.
Comments (7)mites are suckers.. they dont eat leaves .. so im a bit confused at that ... what kind of soap did you use.. a horticultural product.. or dish detergent??? its very stressed... especially after ... the repotting ... im thinking you might be on the verge of loving it to death ...remove from direct sun... but very bright place .. and leave it alone for a month .. it will either die ... or start growing again ... btw... the new media.. did you moisten it before putting the plant in it ??? .. once watered in.. it should not need water for weeks until it starts drying... it should not need watering every few days .... i cant tell from the pic.. but it the entire top growth tip shriveled and dead looking.. if so.. growth will come from a leaf node.. if we can get it stabilized .... youve done what you could.. lets just give it time to recover ... ken...See MoreHeruga (7a Northern NJ)
