There are quite a few. DH has a fairly common Italian last name. However, I would be the only one with my maiden name.

There are two of me.....one is my sister in law!

There are a couple of me. One is a musician. I didn't try to contact either, but I did order two of her albums on CD. Very odd electronic music, but it is rather fun to pull out "my" music for house guests.

My cousin on my fathers side married a woman with my first name..however, she spells it double ”ll”.

There are 2 or 3 with my name on FB. I haven't googled my name, or tried to contact the others. They just have my middle name....that I go by....Marilyn and my last name. There is even one or two that have my maiden name. I have never searched for any with my first name, Julia. There are probably several of those.

There are thousands of me, well at least one thousand. Definitely not getting in touch.

I read a statistic that said, people with the same name automatically don't like each other. Have you found just the same first name is enough to like or dislike someone?

No, it never occurred to me. I do Google my name every year or so, mostly to make sure there's no inappropriate stuff out there pretending to be me - in the process I find a few people with my same name.

Apparently I have a cousin about four years older who was a basketball player in college. That's pretty much all I know about him, and I have not tried to contact him. He may not still be alive, as there is almost no info on him on the web. If he checked, he probably found out about me, but since I live in California and he lives in Texas, there was little chance that we would meet.

I do have another distant cousin in New Orleans (with a different first name) who is a jazz musician, since Artemis mentioned musicians.

I used to work with someone who had the same name as me, at least we worked in the same hospital system. We’d constantly get each other’s phone calls. She was a social worker and I got some very strange messages!

Before I married, my brother married someone with the same names (both first and middle) as me. My new SIL even spelled her middle name in the same unusual way I do. So we both had exactly the same name for a year or so. It got very confusing at times.

My surname is pretty uncommon. Back in my early days on the internet, I sold an article which was somewhat suggestive in nature, to a very popular website. Later, when searching for it, I discovered that there was a woman with my name living about thirty miles away, who was religious and had lots of church stuff posted. There was also a mugshot of someone in Tennessee who looked like a crackhead. I just checked and don't see either of them now.

Not a common name here but there are 3 "others" of me out there, Occasionally I get reminded by a Linked-in spam message that "someone is interested" in me. I have to assume it's one of the "others" and not me as I am not registered at Linked-in or any other social BS web based media.

When searching our state's voting site to determine my precinct, not ONLY did I find someone w/my 1st & last name but the SAME BIRTH DATE. (different year)

I was reading through the obituaries one day and came across one for someone with my name. Made me do a double take.

Yesterday I posted on NextDoor looking for a referral to someone who re-strings cellular shades. I received a private message reply from someone with my name. (Given first name and married surname.) She lives about three miles from me. I wrote back to her, thinking we might at some point be confused by some provider in this area. We're glad to have 'met'. Neither of us has encountered many people with our shared (old fashioned) given name, although our surnames are common enough.

My last name is so unusual and different that there is no one other than immediate family that have it.

I've never googled myself but doubt there is anyone else with my name, since I took my husband's (Indian) last name. You never know, though!

I had another person with the exact same name as me (right down to the middle initial) enrolled at my undergrad college at the exact same time.

This was a million years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, so it did occasionally cause some mix-ups. We also lived on the same road not that far apart. She probably got one of my graduation presents that I ended up really felt bad about. (A beloved family member mailed me a necklace and ended up mad at me because I never sent her a thank you note. Sadly, I never got the necklace and I'm not sure she ever believed me...)

I would hope now with so much of life being computerized it would be less of a mix-up - but now looking at that statement I'm not actually sure if that is true.

I just checked on my name and they had our monthly income plus what we have in the bank. The amount in the bank was wrong but how does one get off of that?? I tried remove but nothing happened.

In my high school, there were two boys named Pernell Larson (lots of Norwegians where I grew up), and one was my friend, but the other was always getting into trouble, and my friend would often get blamed for it.

@sal 60 Hanzlik, good luck getting information removed from the web. Once its out there its pretty much out of your control to have it removed.

If I google myself right now, chances are good I'll find wrong information about who lives in my house.

I have no idea how the wrong information ended up on the web....but I also have spent zero time worrying about it. The internet is chock full of bad information.

WhenI first moved to NYC, I wondered if a guy I'd dated in college lived here. He was a (straight!) ballet dancer and it wouldn't be unusual for a serious dancer to end up in New York. I checked the phone book and sure enough, there was his somewhat unusual name. When I called, the guy who answered wasn't him, but said I was about the fifth woman who'd called..

There was a woman involved in a notorious nationwide crime case with the same first name and married last name as me. Our first name is commonly spelled another way, but we both spell it the less common way. We are not related.

Also, there is a woman who lives less than 10 miles from me with the same first name and same maiden name as me. We are not related.

There is one other with my name. She was a scientist in Alaska, now she is a yoga instructor.
