im confused by the entire layout? why do you need that much cabinet space, why do you not have any counter spac,e and why are the appliances stacked?

Random thoughts:

- No problem with a smaller sink in a slightly larger cabinet; however, I don't get the point in a laundry sink. You can do a pre-soak or a gentle wash in a washing machine. Seems like one more thing to cost money and one more thing to break. I'd much rather have a cabinet top on which to set my basket.

- If it did look funny, so what? This is a garage. If it were inside, I'd say, the same thing: so what? It's a laundry room.

- I'd actually rather get rid of the cabinet and un-stack the machines. Of course, I think that because I am very short. I tried stacked machines in the store and realized it would never be a choice for me.

- To avoid splash problems, run a piece of laminate up the side of the washer/dryer cabinet.

We have a 30 inch pantry as we have very limited to no pantry space in our kitchen. This was a must have for our practical use. The washer dryer is stacked to save floor space. We just got LG washtower which has controls in middle so it solves the biggest problem of stacked system

We want to have a laundry sink as the garage is also a workshop so having a sink is handy for cleanup of paints, glue etc.

After spending more than 4 months or so in all the design choices, questioning all choices, making so many expensive purchase decision it is helpful not to go back and question the choices we made all over again :D

Ditto. Sometimes we just need to make the decisions that are right for us and may not make sense in the "designer" world. Life is too short to get derailed by minutia. That said, I do tend to get lost in the weeds about those things too, until I remind myself, LOL

@remodelitornot, a 22" sink will look fine, but since you are concerned about having enough room to work around the sink, I would consider a 27-28"workstation sink with a ledge that holds a cutting board and a drying rack.

You could treat a stain on the board while soaking items in the sink. The drying rack could be used for laying handwashables, drying paint brushes or scrubbing muddy shoes. I've always had a laundry room sink and wouldn't want a LR without one. When my kids played sports their very muddy uniforms were rinsed and soaked before going into the washer.

A side splash should protect the cabinet.

Yes, that is what i was thinking wouldn't you want a little counter space maybe to set stuff fold stuff. there was no stuffiness to my question, it's a garage, not a living room, I just wanted a sense of what you needed.

I've always had a laundry sink with zero counter space and loved it. The answer to your question is no.
