I was just going to recommend the pleated puckered ones from west elm. I think they'd add some nice texture and movement without a pattern. On my monitor the background looks like the green leans very gray-- if so, I think a liter gray would be great. If your husband wants darker, I'd be tempted to give a go at finding a turquoise that matches or is at least tonal. Yes, it will be hard to match but it's an on trend color and you have plenty of options. I have bought a few comforters and throws from The Company Stores recently for dorm room gifts-- and I'll say that their colors tend to be a little darker/less bright than photographed. I think it would be worth trying them-- and I've always had good luck with their quality. Based on my experience with the same line (I bought purple), I'd try the Prussian Blue.. again, no promises on color so make sure they have a great/easy return policy.. but i think it could work for you and make a stunning room. I removed the canvas picture from behind the bed. I'm not sure if it looks right on the wall, without any furniture under it.Maybe I should take it back to Kohls?? I took the photo at night, so the whole room seems darker, the bedspread does have alot of blue and misted green in it, just not showing up well in my pics. Matching 84" floral drapes went back, I love my 96 " ruffled panels,the champagne color matches the background of the bedding. Thanks for the nice compliment on our Brazilian Cherry floors, we have them throughout the house. Yes, lots of scratches everywhere..bedrooms may be an exception. I've been thinking about that LLBEAN metal bead since a poster here said she loved it...not a metal sleigh like I wanted and I little pricy, but if you think it would look fabulous let me know! I would recommend a white duvet insert, then get a couple of different duvet covers that you can wash and swap out. I buy the cotton sateen or duvet covers that feel like sheets, then use them as the top sheet which makes the bed easier to make, but harder to change sheets because you have to recover the comforter. It’s worth it though. In the past, I have bought several colors: green, yellow, gold, ivory. The ivory is my favorite. It’s so bright and clean. Gold is my second favorite. The more saturated colors were handed down to become the dog/travel comforter covers. So if you do duvet covers + duvet insert (instead of the whole comforter in a specific color), you could try orange if you want, but get ivory too, and do the throw/pillow accents. You could do orange euro pillow shams and and orange throw blanket, or orange sheets and pillowcases with the ivory, or pink and orange throw pillows (pink to go with your painting), or patterned throw pillows (Amazon and society6 have pretty patterns), or you can change it up when you get tired of a color, or want to change decor seasonally.

I would look for an inexpensive print rug that combines your carpet color on a light background with a few other colors for distraction/contrast. Check overstock.com for possibilities. Mohawk has some that could work. It is hard to tell on monitors if your carpet is red or berry. I'd go lively and fun.
