Have you tried clicking on 'Other Forums'? Real Problem
Comments (10)Someone else told me that there is a new thing, called Drive by download infections and 'Click Jacking' It would seem that this kind of behavior on a website is highly suspicious and could be a third party hijacking when you click on a website. I am looking into it now. In the meantime, I've contacted GW yesterday and today to ask if they plan on fixing it etc, with no response again. Yes, natal, I do use Safari. I have FF but it is an old version and all my favorite links are on my Safari browser. I would not like to have to switch, but I have started using my FF for GW temporarily . I also wonder if anyone else on GW could be having a file downloaded to their machine on a windows operating system and not be aware of it? Here is a link that might be useful: Click Jacking A very real threat...See MoreYou have a real gem in your midst.
Comments (18)Thanks Isr2002! I've been meaning to post (with pics) but it's been so long since I've posted pics to this website I can't remember how :( What I didn't tell you was, when Ann sent the donation item for the auction, which she had said would be a magnetic knife holder (which I was already over the moon about), because for one I wasn't an active member of this forum for quite a while, (so not sure she would even remember me, and even more thrilled when she did and agreed to donate to our silent auction), but two, the craftmanship on their work is just so amazing, I was thrilled they were willing to donate! Well...when I received the package, which was somewhat of an excercise in patience and skill in opening! To my surpise and delight, not only did Ann and Moe donate a beautifully crafted magnetic knife board...but..they donated an equally beautifully crafted cutting board!!! She also sent me a package of her amazing custom food photo note cards (for me, not the auction)! All that and the personal note she sent, brought tears to my eyes, litterally! Anne, could of just blown off my email (as many other people I asked for donations from, who know me far better than Ann does, did), but she didn't. And she donated very expensive items to a relative unknown, just because I asked and then she sent something for me as well! I don't have enough words, or thanks to let Ann and Moe, and everyone else know how much their generosity and kindness has touched and affected me. Not just with the Langley Farmers Market Donation, but on a personal level as well. So thanks again Ann and Moe. (I have taken pictures of the boards and once I figure out how top post them again I will, though the pics don't do the actual items justice)! Our Langley Farmer's Market and Long Table Silent Auction is on Monday the 25th (March). I will let everyone know how it went! Thanks again Ann and Moe, from the Langley Farmer's Market and Myself, for your support and Amazing Generosity!...See MoreDo you wish you'd replaced your windows with 'real' wood
Comments (16)I've always had wood and I prefer wood on the inside. As we've replaced windows in our current 35 year old house, we've gone with wood interior/aluminum clad exterior. A number of the windows in our house that were a higher quality brand are still holding up well 35 years later - wood interior and exterior - under pretty extreme climate in MN. The ones we've replaced were lower quality sliders - and one that leaked due to a structural change that wasn't done right. Otherwise I've not had any problem with wood windows in this house. I've had problems in other homes with lower quality windows - that really went south when the prior owners didn't keep up with painting the exterior. In all things I prefer stained wood vs. painted wood or vinyl - just what I like. I have a friend who built a new house - pretty expensive one - and insisted on vinyl windows. So she has this lovely home with nice stained woodwork - and white windows. Doesn't look good in my opinion. And all this done because of condensation on the windows in her previous new home - which was probably the result of other problems completely unrelated to the windows. With the air exchanger in her new house she probably wouldn't have had any of that condensation problem....See MoreDo You Like Art Books? Do You Have or Display "Coffee Table" Book
Comments (32)Outside, I enjoy those books too--- my late FIL went to school with Ferrol Sams and we love his novels. I hadn't realized he wrote essays as well. "When attending art shows, I swear off coffee table books but I am weak." We share that weakness, lol. Seems I am "always" never going to buy another huge book... Beagles, that room is fantastic, and I do see your pile of books peeking out from under that chair to the left :-) I'm with you on the kindle, but every now and then I like to hold a real book. Even though I find myself pushing the edge of the page instead of turning it (hanging head). No screen can reproduce the heft and color of those prints in large books, there is something about a good quality art print that is somehow more convincing than an image on a screen. Sloe gin, over the past decade or so I've seen many people putting lovely shelving in their dining rooms to combine functions or simply bring books into a room that doesn't often see them. I love that look, of a literary dining room! And your basket sounds eminently practical, we use our shagreen boxes and ceramic bowls for the same purpose--- the "stuff" has got to be corralled somehow. I have seen that Circus book, Robo, and the Atomic Ranch book also, they are both marvelous! It's clear that our collective enjoyment of these tomes is at least partly for the esthetic quality of the books themselves in addition to the content. I suppose that's what makes them "useful" decor :-) In some cases they might function purely as decor, as the leather books you've used, tinam. Have you seen the book purses that are so popular in some circles? Kate Spade has or had a few, and there's quite a cottage industry on Etsy making real old books into small handbags. They aren't a tenth big enough for me, but I love looking at them!...See Morecatspa_zone9sunset14
