Pavers--granite or concrete? Tough decision
Comments (5)Concrete pavers are like any other product- you get what you pay for. If your heart is set on a natural material, you may not be happy with even the best concrete pavers. Is bluestone, in a random rectangular pattern an option? Concrete pavers are durable- again, if you buy good ones. My brother laid a paver patio about 12 years ago, dug it up two years ago, and relaid all the pavers for a new patio. Looks good as new....See MoreTough Plant Decisions
Comments (3)Hi Paul, The area between the islands is all water - around 12 gallons total. FB's are somewhat terrestrial, but they actually spend more time "floating" in the water than out on land. Thier favorite place to hang out (in my tanks, at least) has always been on large leaves floating in the water, so they can be wet but not submerged, if that makes any sense. The vine in the water takes care of that need. They come up out of the water to hunt crickets (though mine will eat in the water, which is nice since I don't have to clean up crickets then), or just for a break...they seem to like hiding under leaves/branches and hanging out on the waterfall too. I have guppies in the water now that are breeding, which provides little guppy baby snacks for the toads. They seem to like that as well. I've moved the toads into thier new home already - and added two more. Eventually I plan to have six toads in there. They love it, and have been calling every night. I think I'm going to go with my original plan of Baby's tears for the land area ground cover. I have a maidenhair fern planted in the left island (as we look at it now), the Nep in the center, and I think the shefflera will come out (far right island by the waterfall). I'll either plant hypoestes or fittonia in the right hand island, or I may take it out in favor of a "shipwreck" scene of some sort (some call it cheesy, I call it cute). I still want tillandsias for the back wall, just couldn't quite swing the cost this month. Next month though! :-)...See MoreAssistance please on important liitle decisions...
Comments (1)I feel that it's too much of the same cream or beige colour . Why don't you add a colour in your accent tile ? I think a glass tile that has your wall colour and the cream colour can tie things together and put a pop of colour in the mix . I think Home Depot has that glass tile . My bathroom is all white but I got a glass tile to give a colour and tie things together with the wall colour ....See MoreBlue Volga island tough decision
Comments (24)Sorry I don’t have a good finished picture on my phone, but here’s the day they were installed. Thought it maybe helps to see a kitchen with matching island and perimeter. Like Cat suggested above, I changed edges only, eased on perimeter and ogee island. Volga changes so much depending on spectrums and angles of light. This is why I think matching it with complimentary stone could be a challenge. Also See how the perimeters look rather neutral when standing at the farther end of the room. 6000k LED 2800k...See Moremoonwolf_gw
