Mint Julep throwing round tomatoes?

Has anyone grown Mint Julep before? (I think it's also called Michael Pollan.) It's supposed to produce pear shaped fruit, but yet the first bunch of tomatoes are definitely round on my plant. My understanding is that this is a stabilized mutation from Green Zebra, but is it not actually that stable?



The forward branch has nice little pears:


I don't recall whether this was a single branching plant or two entangled plants (split is roughly soil level visually), but it's only supposed to be Mint Julep either way (grown from seed).
