Sewing Sunbrella fabric

Hello, sad to report that my upholstery go-to guy has retired. I can sew, but he used to do all my upholstery or more difficult sewing jobs for me. He made me Sunbrella cushions for outside 20 years ago and I want to make new covers for them. I can make cushion covers with zippers, but I've never sewn the Sunbrella fabric. Is it too thick for a normal sewing machine? If I can use my normal machine, is there a different type of needle needed? How about the tension settings? Thanks for any advice.
