To start I would never put those tiles in a shower . Too my grout lines and IMO too busy . I actually like a much simpler tile choice for bathrooms since too busy tiles are not classic. I like 12 x24 porcelain tile for both bathroom floors and shower walls . Then a bit of fun for the shower floor and use that same tile for a backsplash. The finishes are simple and you will not tire of them quickly. The dd your other accents in things that can be changed often.

Glossy in the shower makes sense to me. I like the look of your inspiration photo. Patricia makes a good point about grout lines within the actual shower. Even so, I had beautiful caramel subway tiles in my previous master bath and they held up well.

I think the glossy wall tiles would really complement the cement tiles. They are so different that the different finish wouldn't look odd at all. Professional designers mix things up - if you look closely at really well done homes, they are a beautiful mixture of textures, gradations of color and it balances out.

I have smallish wall tall (3" x 6") and have had no problems with the grout on the walls or on the floors which have Calacatta marble basket weave tiles with lots of grout.

Not quite the same thing but I just tiled my balcony with a "rug" of Malibu Art tiles which are glossy and surrounded by matte terrazzo porcelian tiles with a tiny border of shiny black granite between the "rug" and the terrazzo to set it off. Even my GC who supervised the construction loves it - he actually took pictures of it becaue he wants to do something similar in his home. :-)
