Just a Beginner with Questions

I have been searching, but have not been able to find answers for types of roses. I have been studying climbers and how the canes need to be pointed at a 45 or 90 degree angle. Can other types of roses be trained to be climbers like floribunda or ramblers.

I did try 1 rose, Excellenz Von Schubert. I am not sure that this is the name of the rose I am working with since mine has huge sprays with small blossoms and it appears Von Schubert has larger roses on it's spray.

This rose of mine gets very long canes so I just thought it was a climber. I did what the experts said and trained the canes out at a 90 degree angle. The canes never made protruding smaller stems every 8" or so like climbers. This Schubert rose is only blooming at the ends no matter what angle.

What does this mean ? Is it only climber roses that have this attribute.

Thanks, if anyone can explain these roses and move me along in my education.
