Blepharitis--Help--Any Suggestions Appreciated

I had this in January. It got better using baby shampoo and over the counter no-preservative eye drops.

Now--back with vengeance. I think I irritated my eyelids because I goofed and washed with Neutrogena face cleanser. I have really irritated eyelid close to corner. It feels like sandpaper. It's very flakey. Sorry for so much detail.

Anybody else with this problem? How do you deal with it? I'm calling eye doctor tomorrow.

The advice here is always very good.

Those lid scrubs are good, but I've had the best success with Ocusoft Hypochlor. I spray it on a cotton round and scrub my eyelash margins. I started off doing it every day (after a bout of styes, one of which my ophthalmologist had to drain), and now do it once or twice a week. Since then, my blepharitis has essentially cleared up.

Warm compresses. I have chronic dry eyes and do eyelid scrubs everyday with a warm, damp washcloth. When I go on vacation I use over-the-counter eyelid scrub pads. If I don't do this my eyes get in bad shape and end up on an antibiotic. If you're already in pain you probably need to see your eye doctor.

Thanks Kath. I am definitely calling her tomorrow. How do you keep the compress warm? Mine go cold so quick! What over the counter scrubs/wipes do you use? Thank you for the quick reply. This community never lets me down.

The colors you chose look nice and would work well. For more impact, I would remove the shutters entirely and update the landscaping. I think that the landscaping needs an update. Post your dilemma in the landscape subforum for ideas. JMO.

I’m guessing you’re in the U.K. So from a practical point view I’d question the white rendered wall. We aren’t in California. It’s not in keeping with your locality by the look of it and it’ll be green in no time. I’d use the same local brick which the garage has. Also consider the cost benefit of the pizza oven. Given our climate and the time it takes to produce proper pizzas, how much use will it get for the cost? How long before it becomes a rusty eyesore like my neighbour’s? Btw the garage is beautiful. I love the brick and single Roman tiles. With heavy pruning the Pyracanthas can be got back in shape. You might consider a focal point in the middle of the boundary hedge in line with the gap in the new low wall and to be viewed from the house. Maybe recycle your arbour. Btw the pictures are fine if one is familiar with our small back gardens. It’s clear what each one is showing and how they link together.

Agree that the lighting is of prime importance to change out. Accessories can add all the Tuscan influence you want. I would pull out the peninsula and replace it with a Tuscan work table. Your cabinets could stay, but I would add matching crown to all of them and remove that top on the one over the range. Evidently it may cover a vent system, but it looks like you're using a micro with recirculating vent. A warm Tuscan wall paint would be a major change. Work table with storage Accessories Beams that don't cover the entire ceiling might work, plus a Tuscan pendant or two More of a Tuscan farmhouse, white appliances and cabinets; more Tuscan accessories Unified crown molding helps This one is defined as "modern Tuscan" but might be a bit plain for you.

I was at eye doctor in January. When the condition got better, I kinda got lazy about the compresses etc. I am calling first thing tomorrow am. I will never be lazy about this again!

OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Original Formula Eyelid Cleanser Pre-Moistened Pads | Walgreens

Used to buy them at Walmart but they quit carrying them so now go to Walgreens. You can't really keep them warm other than running them back under warm water.

I don't have that problem, but use an antibiotic soap *just* on my eyes to keep the mites at bay. (This was suggested by my MD's RN.) Just a little on a washcloth and scrub for a few extra seconds.

I use a "Bruder moist eye compress" - 30 seconds in the microwave and it stays warm for 10 minutes

Once a day, right after I shower. I use a warm washcloth at home. I don't trust hotels with other people touching them, so when I'm away I'll use the lid scrubs. If I start to have an issue then twice a day, once after showering and then at night before I go to bed.

Got it. I've been doing the baby shampoo and I just ordered some Ocusoft to see if it works better for me. I'm so irritated with myself for slacking off and now this seems to be back with a vengeance. THANK YOU both for quick replies.
