How to slope/waterproof original wood window with storm window outside

I recently discovered a window in my shower that was boarded up and tiled over so it was hidden. I would like to keep the window but am wondering how to properly waterproof it.
My house was built in 1930s and has original wood windows throughout that I plan on keeping. The outside of this window still had a storm window installed. Currently the window sill is sloped towards the outside. From reading online, it seems like typically you want to slope a shower window towards the inside.
Part of my problem/concern is that I don't have a good way to prevent people from using the window sill as a shower shelf.
My current thought is to line the window frame with kerdi membrane to protect the wood frame, then sand down the wood trim and find a way to make it more waterproof.
I am uncertain of how to slope the window sill since it already has a slope outside and there is a storm window in place.
Thanks in advance for your input!
