Poor Man's Flow Meter with VS-3050
Comments (1)Thats funny, Only problem is you are causing back pressure in the one return you are testing, making the others flow more. If you can do them all at once you may have a better number....See MoreGranite countertop gaps - poor install?
Comments (39)The installer was to come out on Wednesday afternoon to remove the sections as promised, but called later in the day and cancelled - said he would be by thurs, but never showed. My husband called him on thurs. afternoon to track him down, and he said he would be out friday morning - he finally showed on Friday afternoon and took the 2 sections beside the stove and the long run of granite that does not include the sink. The installer stated that he would be back another day to template and cut a new stone - stating that he had enough remnants to cut from the same stone. Today, they loosened the portion with the sink in it to shift it around to try to make it match up with the other granite, just to see how large the gap would become, and when I voiced my concerns about the prying off of the granite with the sink still attached as well as the epoxy integrity the installer seemed to disregard my concerns and said that it wasn't possible - that the epoxy is solid and shifts such as this would have no effect. I have read too many commentaries about issues with under mount sinks in general to think that shifts such as could not play a role in the sink loosening over time. When the installer left, you could feel the tension...and I really feel that the working relationship has been damaged. I will eventually update you on the outcome...but at this point, it may take a while....See MoreQuartz Countertop Mitered Waterfall Edge - Acceptable or Poor Job?
Comments (14)GC agrees and is fantastic - I use them on every project. My post was to get some objective viewpoints because after looking at it for a week straight, I've lost perspective on the two options. Faced with an option to just "accept it and move on" as live_wire stated is appealing on one hand because we are several weeks behind schedule (COVID supply chain issues) and without even basic use of the kitchen for 10 weeks now - so the thought of just plowing forward and getting this done is enticing. However, we did pay a premium for an upgraded feature from a reputable and experienced fabricator...having to look at something that is "a solid B" when that isn't what we paid for nor were promised, and doesn't match the quality of the rest of the project will probably irk me to see each time we walk into the kitchen. Again, was looking for some perspective on if this is acceptable or poor from professionals or people with more experience with mitered edges than myself. The chastizing over the inherent pitfalls of renovation and "overdone fad features" really is just white noise - this isn't my first or even 10th reno, but I'm also not a stone fabricator. But then again, who doesn't enjoy armchair quarterbacking other peoples' projects from behind a keyboard? 🙂...See MoreCountertop waterfall edge fix or redo?
Comments (5)That plywood isn't nearly rigid enough to hold up that 2cm with that much cantilever. It may break the miters apart when it sags. Prolly take a few years though. It's not even cabinet grade; lookit that edge pokin' out on the right. Geesh. That'd make a roof look bad....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
