Wrong number of doors for a hutch cabinet what would you do
Comments (19)RMSAustin, I think it is very common to have two of these similar cabinets next two each other. Though these cabinets could be slightly wider than 24" inches. I think the issue of the doors damaging is true where ever you have two double doors cabinets next two each other correct? Why would this be different. Just trying to see if I am missing something. In regards to the ease of use the one door may be easier. Here is an picture from houzz that has 3 similar cabinets next two each other (those cabinets are inset but you get the idea) [Contemporary Kitchen[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/contemporary-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2103)...See MoreWhat style range hood would look best in kitchen? Comments (13)Yes, the Bluestar induction is too new for any reviews. It has 12 settings, not 9 as was first thought. And the knobs are what I will demand on the next induction cooktop I get. The touch controls just don't work if your hands are damp, and you have to watch them to make sure they don't change (any spatters may change the settings). Other than the lack of knobs, the Wolf is fine. For the hood, Vent-a-Hood is better in my opinion (and the factory is not far from where I live). However, 600 CFM is just right for induction, but it's not even remotely good enough for gas. [This assumes the standard 3" extra on each side. eg. 36" cooktop = 42" hood. If the hood is larger--6" or 12" on each side--and the distance up from the cooktop is close to the minimum, or the gas cooktop has no greater than 8K BTU burners, then you might get by with 600 CFM and gas, but if you're going for a 18K to 25K Bluestar you need some serious airflow.]...See MoreEntry hallway runner - what size/style would fit best?
Comments (3)Thanks, Jan! I just snapped a couple additional photos showing the area at the front entry in relation to the front hallway where the runner is + a length shot of the runner. I measured from the door to the wall where the hallway starts and it’s 72 in. The length of the door across (not counting the molding on the sides) is 36 in. exactly. And the widest I could probably go without interfering with the air vent is 48 in. But i’m afraid to get one too big so that its too close to the hallway runner. shouldn’t there be some space? what’s the recommendation there? I also measured the width of the hallway and it’s 43.5 in. Given those measurements, do you have a suggestion on which entry rug and runner sizes would work best? Thank you!...See MoreBase and Molding style to go with 2 Panel Raised Doors
Comments (7)@Beverly Our floors are the original and in wonderful condition - the chosen stain color for the doors and trim is based off the floors and is slightly darker. I am not interested in painted doors and trim, my preference is stained. We still have the original corner built ins in our dining room and cabinets in our kitchen and I feel those are traditional. I choose the door panel because I found it to be simpler and we will have four of them in a very small "hallway" (2 bedrooms, bath and basement doors). I thought if the panel design was any busier, it might be chaotic in the small space. It's also possible that I have no idea what I am talking about! Is there a different direction you would recommend....See Moreltwassocs
