Comments (2)What do you do around your house with the kids? DS is 3 and we're home most days. Most of the time when I ask if he wants to go somewhere he says he wants to stay home! LOL We go outside and play on his slide or swim in our small Easy Set pool. He likes to watch TV, play with his toys, paint and color or really anything. He's into helping around the house and being helpful, too. Try involving your son in stuff you're doing. Sometimes it may take longer or you may have a mess to clean up but the kids have so much fun and enjoy it. We try to get out at night or on the weekends. Even then, it's not a lot of time at the store. (He even likes going to the grocery store...he reminds me of things we need to get! LOL) We usually visit family or friends on the weekends one or twice. You could easily just take rides just to look for animals or whatever. Our son isn't around a ton of kids and yet when he is, he makes friends quickly and they get along so I"m not all concerned about him not being in daycare or preschool. Also, I've found that just sitting down and talking to your kids makes them happy and can be fun. Our son will ask a question...like today it was, "Can we take our dog to the fair this week?" and I explained dogs weren't allowed and reasons why. So now he can share that with Daddy when he comes home. I"ve also had to explain why it has to rain or why it thunders (so he's not scared anymore I said that two clouds are fighting over whether it should stay hot or cool off) or why the pool was getting slimy.. A lot of the time that we are talking, I'm also doing something else like preparing supper and he feels he's getting attention and I"m getting my work done, too. Or we can be driving in the car and he'll ask what a road sign means and I've taught him a few and he'll tell us now! Include your son in every day simple stuff and to him it can be fun and it may take care of his boredom. Good luck and no you're not alone. All parents, even parents with seemingly good kids have bad days. We all have days we would like to go on strike, too. You just have to figure out the best way to deal with those days and get through them....See MoreI am so disappointed with the color of my kitchen cabinets!
Comments (10)Did you try using the same temperature light that Home Depot uses ? They probably use some type of fluorescent in the store, right ? I know many hate fluorescent lighting but if it gives you the proper color, who cares. I loved that color and was considering those cabinets. I had the MS catalog and loved every single kitchen in it and the sea salt counter. You are correct in thinking that the taupe paint/lighting(and floor color)might be affecting it also. The taupe might be pulling them down. Check the undertones in that paint. BM can tell you. All colors are affected by what they are next to. I struggled with this while trying to learn color correction of 4/C photos for printing(books). BM has a website called myperfectcolor where you can post photos(post the cabs, floor or anything that might affect them) and get guidance for paint colors. List the paint color that you currently have in your query. They really try their best to help, but posting photos will get you a faster more detailed answer. Do you know how I know this ? I put LED in UCL and just recently put fluorescent cove lighting (T5)above cabinets. I'm not using both lights at the same time so I don't care if they are different temps. Wow, my floors look so much more colorful with the fluorescents. Also the paint that was too dark looks bright and cheery(although still not a match for my floor so I'm repainting :( Here is a link that might be useful: myperfectcolor...See MoreI am so fed up with my sewing machine.
Comments (6)I am not a sewing machine expert, but I do make a lot of quilts. Occasionally, like everyone else, my machine does what you are describing and usually a quick cleaning or re-threading fixes the problem. It is not normal for a 5-6 year old machine to be doing this so it sounds like it time for a trip to a service place. It's worth it to reduce the stress it's causing. Like the previous poster said, get an estimate so you can decide if you want to repair or replace! You said it doesn't matter if it's the top or bottom thread. Do you mean it does it with both? From a trouble shooting perspective it does matter which it is so if it's one or the other it would help to know that. Is this machine new to you or have you had it a while? Did it ever work OK or has it been doing this as long as you've had it? If you bought it used, and it's never worked for you, then this might be why the last person got rid of it! But if it used to work fine for you, then it can almost certainly be fixed. What's the model? There may be others here with similar problems. Try posting this on the quilting forum too be cause there are lots of quilters with Brother machines and they may be able to help if they know the model. Good luck!...See Morecan't write another follow up so here it is
