need help for under mount sink installation with Caesar stone
Comments (24)Quote from the first post : '' We called caesar stone and they clearly said thats not the way we recommened to install the sink but you can ask your fabricator to call us about the warranty . my question was very simple to them will it cause future problem with the life time warranty but they said your fabricator should call us and he is the one who can give you warranty for the installation .'' It looks like it is the fabricator you should ask about warranty . Just a reminder : You do have a 3cm Caeserstone , not the 2cm one . Even if the groove is 1cm deep , there is a lot of material left with lots of strength . As suggested , if concerns are about the material splitting , which in this case it is highly unlikely , then you can always fill the grooves as much as possible . Another reminder : The sink in question is coming with attaching brackets and maybe in the fabricators experience , they decided it is better to use them in combination with a strong man made stone . Nothing wrong with it , especially with sinks which need prying force to bring them close to the stone . I do not use this system , but I've seen it on many occasions by other fabricators . You should make sure the sink lip is siliconed well to the stone , for preventing future leaks ....See MoreHow to mount farm sink (blanco ikon)??
Comments (24)Yes, there is about a 1/4" gap at the corner where the sink is curved, and the cut is square. I don't think your angle of your picture and the lighting is making that visible to everyone. I would want him to order a deep drawer face, and scribe it better, then cover it up. He needs to practice his curves more with cardboard or Masonite. The trick is to cut just a bit smaller than needed, with a bit of a bevel to the inside. Then the small bit of excess can be slowly rasped away with a file to the exact contour. It's a giant PIA to get those wonky corner curves perfect. But it can be done. I also personally want the cut exposing the raw wood to be sealed before the sink is installed and caulked. Takes just a minute to do when using shellac or a shellac based primer. Gives a lot of peace of mind. And all of that is why my installer mumbles under his breath and charges me $500 to do a farm sink cradle and cut. ;-/...See Moreunder mount sink suggestions (prefer SS 70/30)
Comments (73)"When I asked for the slight positive reveal he said they could but also said ”the silicone will turn black”. I have been retrofitting undermount sinks with straps and a slight positive reveal for 5 years or so and have never had a silicone joint turn black. Silicone "turns black" because of mold and mildew created by leaking clipped and blocked sinks. Clear silicone is an excellent choice for mounting stainless steel sinks. While it does have adhesive properties, its function is primarily that of a gasket. The straps do the work of holding the sink....See MoreLaminate with Top-Mounted Sink to Quartz with Undermounted Sink
Comments (7)Hey Patricia, I have always thought the cabinet doors were strange looking. The cabinet guy said it's designed that way because of the apron front sink. I thought they should go higher. We're not dealing with a cabinet maker. We're just doing new countertops and new apron front sink. My husband isn't handy, and he has so much titanium in his back that he can't bend in order to do that kind of modification....See MoreRelated Professionals
