Friday Night Music (FNM) Category is - Plant Kingdom
Comments (60)I'm thinking of a lot of songs that contain plants, but they're oldies...like April Showers bring May flowers; if you don't want my peaches, don't shake my tree; High Hopes with the rubber tree plant; if you're going to San Fran be sure to wear flowers in your hair; bette midler's The Rose; Wonderful World with the trees of green, red roses too; Autumn Leaves; Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'round the Old Oak Tree; Here We Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush......See MoreFNM Friday Night Music; Size/Quantity (How much, how many)
Comments (46)I do like the Murry Kellum version of Long Tall Texan, but I had never heard it or of it before, and I was living in 1963 when it was released. It sounds much more like the Trashmen's version than it does like the Beach Boys' version, which I've never liked at all. I think the Trashmen did a good remake - the Beach Boys did not. Here's ronminsouthga's video I was expecting someone to post this song!...See MoreFNM Friday Night Music: Time Part III: Seconds, minutes, hours, etc
Comments (25)I've been listening to music every minute, second. Music is not like light, oxygen, or any other indispensable element. People are close to it in an absolute way and take it with them almost anywhere: in the car, on the street, at work, or at home. And I often look on show4me.com to go out somewhere and not listen to music only on the phone, especially when it's outdoors it's so friendly and pleasant at the same time. Music helps me get rid of stress because it has a liberating effect. It can remove negative thoughts and unlock the mind from the questions that disturb our psyche....See MoreFNM Friday Night Music: Halloween/Fright Night IV
Comments (26)As many times as I've heard "Mack the Knife" from the 1960s on, I never suspected that it was about murder or that Mack was a murderer, and I did not know that the lyrics were taken from Bertold Brecht's Die Dreigroschenoper, which I have both read and seen. I always thought "mack" was something you were supposed to do to a knife, similar to stropping. Now I'll never hear that song the same way again! Thanks, I guess👿 Here's a silly song, from the 1950s, I think: Not a great song, but on topic. I think that there are a lot of songs here that don't fit into other themes (so far), and I do like this time of year. Parties in San Francisco would start almost two weeks before Halloween when I lived there in the 1970s-80s, although in the late 1960s, New Year's Eve was the most popular holiday there, and that's when the best concerts used to happen....See MoreLars
