I am glad you took the wallpaper off and now a nice calm color would go well in your beautiful home office. I agree with you that I think a light green would be nice. Hunter Green has to go also since my neighbor had her whole home painted in Hunter Green with a Semi-Gloss Finish that at first was stunning but after awhile (over 9 years that I was living next to her since she had it this color maybe 7 years earlier also) I knew it needed updating which the new tenants did. They painted their livingroom and dining room BM Prescot Green and their family room a nice gold color. Their kitchen they painted BM Philadelphia Cream Which looks great with the Cherry Wood cabinets and their pretty window. I love their Prescott Green but I think you need even a lighter green in your home office.

I’d recommend the same thing however, I’d align the side of each desk with the windows (not next to the windows, just aligned with them) and place a long narrow table between them for shared resources, like printers, etc., if there’s room (or add a large table top over both desks, creating a shared centre area). I’d also suggest you add drapes that cover the wall space, between the windows and some beautiful art on the wall facing the entry. As much as a rug could be quite beautiful, I’m not a fan of rugs on top of rugs, particularly when your current rug is patterned and your chairs have to be able to slide in and out. Look for some very colourful art and drapes to address your sense of “blah”. Your room and furniture are so neutral, you could choose almost any colour you like.

You need outlets by the chair (for a floor lamp) and treadmill. I would also want to look out the window while on the treadmill, so unless there is no outlet in the dormer and it isn't wide enough for the treadmill, I'd put it there. Are you both working from home most of the time, or are the desks just spots to pay bills, surf the web and play around? Looks like maybe someone does conference calls? True? If anyone is required to zoom or such for work, that desk should face a window for natural light. If that leaves the desk with no background, try using a green screen. Do you plan to paint all the built-ins that blue-gray? It looks pretty, but you need to style the shelves with 1/3 books, 1/3 large decor items, and 1/3 open space. It will also guide rug choices. I would go for a very large Persian rug that covers a big central portion of the floor and leaves about 18" of open floor as a border on most sides. If you do the reading nook by the stair rail and book shelf, you could simply add something like a soft, fluffy flokati there.

For the heavily wooded rural property where my sister and I live: Add 2nd bath and 3rd bedroom to our cabin (for small art studio & guest space) Complete interior walls and floors (sheetrock, paint, porcelain floor tile) Add mini-split cooling/heating system to replace window units and augment wood stove Build shelves and cabinets in living room and bedrooms Build dining banquette and table into dining nook Upgrade and paint exterior siding and build covered deck to surround all 4 sides of cabin to provide covered parking and protected walkways to and from living space Build combination greenhouse/potting shed Fence and landscape property...including well and pond with rock scape and waterfall Build small barn to house goats and ponies for grandchildren, nieces, and nephews Improve road and driveway for eased access to property
