Now I'm wondering if perhaps you rather have an "old, blush-colored" rose which has morphed into 'Old Blush'. Maybe what you have is actually the old Alba 'Maiden's Blush' or 'Great Maiden's Blush' and its correct name was corrupted over time. There's also a rose called "Blush Damask" on HelpMeFind which might exist as a pass-along plant which was passed-along to you. Or maybe it's simply another OGR, blush in flower color, which was given the "found" name of something like "that old blush rose" by someone, which became shortened to "old blush", but is not the China rose 'Old Blush'. Does that make sense to you? It barely makes sense to me, but I'm kinda pooped....it's past my bedtime. :-) ~Christopher

Thanks for your input Heather. I guess I'll give her until spring before I replace her. I too miss MerryGro too. I hope some other company pops up to replay them as an easy web-oreder source for roses on Fortuniana. I find it interesting that so few people have spoken on this rose. Maybe people's silence is an idicator of this roses reputation. Either that or folks are too busy shoveling snow (lol). Thanks, Adrian.

I get it... My roses look a little stressed. This spring has given them really wide temperature swings between 30-40 degrees of daytime to nighttime temps. Ex: 70 degree warm sunny days to 34 degrees for an early morning low. Some of the rose bush growth looks sort of stunted. And, the wind? Holy cow - we had gusts to 40 mph a few days ago. Mama Nature will have her way, won't she? About 3 weeks ago, my Peace rose was budding out so much and I was so excited. Now about half of the buds have fallen off and as I mentioned the growth looks stunted. I think a fourth of buds are still on the plant. Same with Geoff Hamilton - the buds look really weird and they may all just fall off. :-( I have to say I was a little depressed about it but, life goes on and I'll keep up the good work. The roses close to the house have fared better and I've babied the new roses by covering them or bringing them inside at night. My second year Eden that's close to the house looks great and has over 60 buds on it. I've gone to great lengths to protect it just so I can see the display. I've also compensated for the current situation by purchasing a few blooming roses from local sources just to have some blooms around. Keep your chin up Sara Ann and enjoy the beauties you mentioned!

Thank you. Kristine, did you mean Gold Medal? Although I love Medallion, it's not one that I have. My Savannah had such nice fragrance, and last year I liked it better as the season progressed. I think you would like Orchid Romance, Lily, at least you would if it did as good for you as it does for me. It's almost a fool proof rose for me. Carol, I use Miracle Gro Potting mix. This year I added Osmocote to all my established potted roses and also the newly planted ones at the time I planted them. Here's a picture of Bolero. It seems to be coming along pretty good, because it got a slow start at the beginning of the season. It had some wind damage, but came out of that just fine. Until now it had a few scattered blooms. DOUBLE DELIGHT - This one has bloomed a lot, just not very many that have been that pretty so far, but it is always fragrant! I have had some nice PINK PEACE blooms this year, and I can always count on its fragrance too.
