Sliding glass shower door vs curtain for 96 x 51 bathroom
Comments (5)You can counteract the dark color of walls and floor with a light brightly colored fabric shower curtain. Buy something pretty and install a tie-back on one side so when dry it can be swept back and provide that open look. It will give the bathroom that sense of "finish" for when prospective tenants come to view your rental. The last thing you want to do down the road is try to restore glass doors that haven't been properly maintained....See MoreTub/Shower Sliding Door...or Shower Curtain?
Comments (14)We put in the clear shower doors available at Lowes and love them. We squeegee each time and wipe the shower control and tracks with a towel. DH is actually so into it that if I take a shower and fail to do the job, he mentions it. I never thought I would be a squeegee person. I am always in a hurry, but I can do this in less than one minute. Less than one minute to help avoid hours of shower scrubbing. A no-brainer. In my hall bath, I wouldn't let the man put shower doors back in. The tracks got in the way of the Little Girl sitting on the edge of the tub to shave her legs, the shower/toilet area is tiny anyway, and there is little room to maneuver. So, I bought a couple of nice terry (white) shower curtains from HomeGoods. They always have nice and inexpensive shower curtains and other bath supplies. I keep it open so the room doesn't close in on you. Red...See MoreFrameless Sliding Glass Shower Doors -- Any Well Engineered Ones?
Comments (12)"...Are there any hi-quality makers of frameless shower sliders?..." I thinks Fleurco is the Best in Class Winner here. Their hardware works beautifully. These doors can be ordered as kits with the glass or you can order just the hardware by itself. Make sure you shy away from a fully topical waterproofed shower pan with you barrier free build since you will need to secure a floor clip. I would do a recessed shower floor and take an approach like this for the barrier free. The dark blue section of the shower is under flood test and later had 2" of Laticrete 3701 mortar bed installed to bring the floor even with the outside of the shower. The light blue material is again NobleSeal CIS and the entire room is a wetroom After the floor test was done 2 capillary breaks where installed. One at the entry to the bathroom and one across the shower entry. Good Luck....See MoreI want to remove my sliding glass shower door, but have questions.
Comments (11)My metal shower door frame only had holes from screws on the vertical portions. The bottom track was not screwed into the rim of the tub. The holes may not be that big. You may be able to fill them with autobody filler and touch up the holes with a little paint, or screw in a slightly larger screw into the hole and paint the screw with a small amount of paint. It will not be perfect but it will be covered by the shower curtain as well....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
