'Muck-Vac anyone?
Comments (1)One of our ponds is small and we had the same issue every year. first we bought a small submersible pump but the hose was so narrow it took all day to drain. Last year we bought an Oase 3 vacuum and you can place the discharge hose either in or out of the water. We used it last week and our pond was empty in like 10 minutes. Sucks up muck and other debris too. Only thing is that we use it as a vacuum for our other ponds and it wouldn't be cost effective to use just to empty a small pond....See MoreAnyone tried the Hoover Platinum Linx Cordless Vac?
Comments (0)My apologies if this ends up being a double post; I posted this already, but it never showed up, so I'll try again... (FYI, x-posted to Home Decor Conversations forum, also) I'm looking at the Hoover Linx Stick Vac, trying to decide if it's really worth the price (~$160-180). I currently have the Electrolux Pronto 2-in-1 cordless stick vac. It worked well initially, but after about 2.5 yrs, the battery died. That's when I found out it does not have a replaceable battery :-o So, I'm in the market again, as I love the convenience of the cordless style. I don't use it for all of my hard floors, primarily only for the kitchen, so I don't need a long charge time. I've checked the Linx's reviews at various online retailers, now I'm just curious if anyone here has actual experience w/ it. Thanks for your input! Comments (13)We have three. The lightest is one of those bags with string handles that are given away for free so often. I always carry it when walking the dogs. It holds my cellphone, a roll of doggie poo bags, and a plastic Folgers coffee canister to 'aroma seal' used poo bags until we get home. The second is a day-hiking bag with padded shoulder straps, water bottle patches on each side, and zippered compartments galore. It's heavy even when empty! Dear husband picked it out, so he usually carries it. We use it when taking longer hikes thru the woods to carry camera, snacks, sunscreen, etc. Finally, the third is an old, student backpack that has 2 un-padded shoulder straps and one big zippered compartment. I like it for trips to the library -- sturdy but simple....See MoreUpright Corded Vac Recommendations, Anyone?
Comments (9)Not retractable, but easy peasy to propel, the Shark upright I got at Costco about a year ago. It does a bang up job on picking up the cat's long velcro fur and the dirt we get here. Just wow. The drawback is the cord could be a little longer. I do have to pull the plug and find another outlet a little more often than I used to. Not a dealbreaker for me, but still... I used to have a Dyson. It was problematic and a wrist and shoulder abuser--so hard to push around. I ended up putting out on the curb with a free sign attached to it. Someone picked it up, and I prayed they wouldn't return it in a few days. lol Anyhow, probably not in Miele neighborhood of satisfaction. People love their Miele vacs, but I go through vacuums so often I thought for the price (on sale), I'd give the Shark a chance. I'm glad I did....See Morebrenda_md
