I have some experience with this plant. You can try saving your dracaena by taking it out of the wet soil it's currently in, and letting the roots air out and dry out for about a day; then, repot it in new, well draining soil and give it very little water. I, too, think that every other day is much too often to water a dracaena. Let the soil dry out slightly between waterings - I'm thinking it'd only need watering maybe every 10-14 days, or even less frequent, depending on the soil. Best of luck!

My friend found this plant and a few others outside an Indian a while back, so we presumed it was some sort of spice plant or chilli plant they didn't need or want. I went on plant net, and it said maybe a Red Capsicum?? It's been growing quite rapidly, and it's starting to look more and more like a tree, so I'm really not sure. Plant net said maybe a Balsam Polar tree, but the leaves don't fully match any options. Any suggestions, haha?

Kalanchoes are easy and fun to grow but can be very weedy. I bought one of those baggies with two leaves in it at the Hawaiian Botanical Garden in Hilo, HI six years ago as "air plant". It is a Kalanchoe on steroids - the tallest it got was nearly six feet and bloomed this winter in the basement. Not the prettiest blooms though. My newest Kalanchoe is the donkey ears. And KarenS is correct - they need a lot of light. Full sun when you get them acclimated for best results. This is from the mother of thousands - a true weed but it is nice to have a few for fun.

if i had a window like that .. i would wonder how cold it might be in my MI ... in winter ... and i would consider that variable in plant choice .. for you ... where are you ... big city name ... and how about a pic of your room.. it would be best to make suggestions on your site.. rather than this random www pic ... ken ps: the thing that jumped out for me in the pic.. is all that glorious light ... and the darn thing is leaning ... one would think it would be bolt upright.. simply by turning it once every 3 months... which then made me think.. staged or photoshopped ... and then i lost interest ... because its fake ... and then i wondered what your situation was .. and then i decided i needed to stop drinking coffee because apparently i cant stop typing.. lol ... which is usually the case .. when the ps is longer than the original reply ... lol.. enough already ....
