LVT (Luxury Vinyl Flooring)

I want vinyl plank in my 4th floor condo. The board is requiring 75 STC And 73 IIC which can only be achieved by an additional 2.5 mm underlay which will void virtually all newer vinyl manufacturers’ warranty.

If I use a 1.5 mm rubber-like acoustic underlay (ProSol Versatile Acoustic Membrane) under vinyl plank with a 1 mm cork back, what problems would I possibly encounter? Is the cork backing better than a foam backing (is it firmer) to prevent flexing the click lock system and it’s resulting breaking down? I know it will void the warranty in any case.

Both the underlay and tile have their own ratings of 73 IIC and 67 STC and 71 IIC and 73 STC respectively. Together the sound transmission would effectively be nil, correct?

It’s not going to have a lot of traffic.

Any comments are welcome.
