U.P.O.'s Unidentified Pretty Objects
Comments (6)@ Kate. All my roses start out as Unknowns. You see, the people here are usually unaware of the classes of roses and even their names. They're usually sold under a common name as "Valentine Roses" or "American Roses" and under those names different colors and classes appear. The second white one was called a "Valentine Rose" and along with it were other roses of the same name that were Red chinas, and Pink HTs. It's quite hard to identify them, so the Rose ID forum is my most extensively used forum here.. By far only two of my roses have been correctly identified; Center Gold, and Olympiad. The others are still in the dark but their possible names have been narrowed down to a small list. The ones here are ones I have totally no leads on. Comments (4)I think I'd take a wire brush and get as much of the rust off as possible. Other options would be naval jelly or if you have someone that does sand or bead blasting nearby, then get them to get the "crud" off. If you leave the rust on them...it's like an unchecked disease, it will keep on growing. Once cleaned, use a primer (like Rustoleum) and finish coat of your chosen paint. I also use the varnish spray that Linda mentioned for my outdoor pieces....See MoreUFO's (UnFinished Objects)
Comments (8)Sounds great to me! Several years ago I made a promise to myself that I would, and I am using that word again, NEVER leave a painting unfinished. Then I had to define unfinished, where the painting had unpainted areas or when it didn't meet my "I like this," but that doesn't seem to flow out into my home....drawers are my downfall, then comes the utility closet and then my china closet and then storage under the beds and then......Yep! Include me! I see that you have mentioned the 4th Sat. of each month and that seem like a good choice, of course we all will have exceptions to any date that is chosen. Punk....slow down girl! I know....not possible! Belle...See MoreYour dream, kitchen: If finances and space were no object?
Comments (18)Honestly, I absolutely have my dream kitchen. Everything has a place. I have the most incredible quartzite, incredible stained glass window, windows on either side of my cooktop, fabulous off white shaker cabinets (some with glass to show off my collections), induction cooktop, wide aisles, both a clean up sink and a prep sink, great hanging lights, more than enough prep space and space for baking and I even have empty drawers still. Oh and it works like a dream. It follows Ice/Water/Stone/Fire. Every time I walk into my kitchen, I smile. Actually my whole house makes me smile. I'm very lucky!...See Morenickel_kg
