Today's Harvest......he he he
Comments (42)Thank you all for your nice compliments. Ana, we prefer to make the tatsoi salad for parties because the greens keep their shape, they are also called spoon, even with the dressing look fresh after a few hours, lettuce would not do that. It also tastes mild which is a plus for many dishes. If you don't already have is a good idea to buy a salad spinner to keep greens fresh anytime you need it. Like today, after we went shopping and came back tired, Cheryl had a dish with leftovers roasted veggies and tatsoi, everything warm from the microwave in 5 minutes. We bought some nice colorful containers like the chinese take out for everybody to take cookies home after they baked them. Tom, we should all grow greens like I said before, all you need is a container. I made Willy today a salad of tatsoi, tomatoes, red onions, calamata olives, tuna, with a little bit of olive oil and lime juice. And I mixed it with hot pasta, he said it was delicious! It took 10 minutes. Cheryl was saying, I wonder why more people don't grow this green? It is better than spinach. Fresh from the garden or cooked. Silvia...See MoreWhy is he being a spazz...
Comments (3)He went on like that until the next morning, and apparently he was over it. Woke me up with a tounge on the face, ready to play. I'm guessing he stayed down there so long b/c the air pressure wasn't back to normal yet, or something to that effect that he associates with the storms. It's hard to know, since they're so much more sensitive than we are. Annz - he's still eating, alright!! If that dog didn't eat his kibble, I'd have cause for great concern. I guess what I should have said was he wasn't doing his usual Hoover routine... he actually chewed. Ah, and the porch thing - I know this sounds utterly stupid - he needs his privacy. Get too close, and he just sits there. Sometimes he waits until we actually go back inside. Stools have looked good thus far. Cynthia - We have no way of knowing what got him booted from home. We know that he and his brother were picked up loose with no collars, and owners bailed big brother out - but not him. He's made a 180° turn in the (almost) four months we've had him. He was quite timid when I first picked him up. Thanks very much for the advice. I've been looking up literature on counder-conditioning, and can't find much. Do you have any resources?...See MoreDeep breaths and Good thoughts needed.
Comments (18)A friend's highly intelligent DD showed signs of mental imbalance as a young child, but was only diagnosed schizophrenic after starting college. Her illness has had her careening through life for 45 years, making confused choices, including having transient affairs, resulting in two children she is incapable of raising. Nanny, this DD also blames her parents for her condition. To preserve THEIR sanity, they have set rules on contact. They help support her in a location of her choosing that is thousands of miles away. Otherwise, they would ALL be living on the her rollercoaster -- as you are describing, Nanny. This caring separation has saved my friend's marriage. It allows her to live the rest of her own life, including relationships with other family members who are not impaired. No child or parent should have these troubles. It's heartbreaking to see someone you love go from crisis to crisis. If you can't help...and may in fact be contributing to the problems...would more distance help?...See MoreFYI - Cell #s being released to telemarketers
Comments (15)Minnie_tx is a good example of how wardialers work. They dial every number combination and texting is like emailing spam. Even more efficient than a wardialer. And they don't have to have you on their telescammer list to do it. Also keep in mind if you call a toll-free number, they have your number and as mentioned, you've established a business relationship authorizing them to call you. And don't be fooled into thinking you'll "block" your number to a toll free line. Can't be done in the normal methods. There are a few ways around it but for the most part they have your number. Once again, if you get it in an email, it's probably a hoax! And it accomplishes what many of the spammers want. Tie up bandwidth, make people do unnecessary and stupid things and waste peoples time. Please learn about hoaxes. And educate the people who send you these hoaxes. They're not your friends when they do that. I do not need another caution about the $250 cookie recipe - I'm busy enough with the Nigerian General who's going to make me rich!...See Morelucillle
