LowE With No Green Color
Comments (8)The white glob on the house is my lame attempt to blur out my house number. After 12 days of rain and no gutter on the garage overhang, the wall is covered in dirt. The point is, the windows look as dark as sunglasses during the day in cloudy or sunny weather. Highly reflective during the day but at night you can see in from the street. Yes there is a green cast but it is barely noticeable due to the dark tint. I will attempt to attach 2 photos. The door in the photo is my old door. Not impact. The label on my SH5500 window says: Glazing: 7/8" lig (1/8 AN - 7/16 GAP - 5/16 AN/AN PVB) L-239 Impact Resistant SH5500 ...51.875x61.75X.,STD,5/8" FL,W,EQUAL,7/8 LIG,GR,ARG,ES Max, Vinyl frame, Dual Glazed, Argon Gas, Low E. Comments (1)@msgal39564 - what did you decide on the glass and how did it work out? Natural sunlight is very important to use with a housebound family member (who does notice the glass difference in newer homes), so we are really weighing our options in a similar climate....See MoreColor Cast dilemma. Comments (61)the "cabinet designer" is being paid... by the cabinet store. you are a paying customer, and this is an expensive project. don't take advantage of them of course, but don't be afraid to change your mind. when it comes to picking colors: unfortunately sometimes what you really want just might not work in a space. I wanted my bathroom to have white countertops and teal tile, but the natural lighting in there is too blue for that so I compromised. as far as choosing a peachy-red undertone paint for your grey room: you said you'd be worried about it in the winter. I think it would look lovely -- warm and cozy. we're not suggesting anything with a noticeable peach undertone....See MoreIs SunCoatMAX low-e glass noticeably different?
Comments (11)"when clear and 366 windows are a few inches away from each other." As mentioned earlier, the decision is not solely limited to "clear and 366 windows". You can get energy efficiency with LoE-272 coated glass, but not have the tinting of the LoE-366 coating. Most windows manufacturers offer LoE-272 coating as their standard coating - i.e. no upcharge for it. "What I really need to know is just how obvious the difference in tone is from inside the house" I can only tell you the difference in tone from inside the house between clear glass and LoE-272 windows that are next to each other in my home. There is no difference in tone. Where the difference comes in is that the sun (these windows both face unobstructed SE) heats up the room and bleaches the wood furniture via the clear windows. The LoE-272 windows do not heat up the room and do not bleach the furniture....See MoreLea Rashka
