Stop at the bottom of the hood

Why to the bottom of the hood? I read on a site to carry to the ceiling for a more dramatic look. The sites example was with a slanted ceiling also. Thank you for your input.

The top of our range will be directly in front of the burners. Slab already purchased

The burners are not flat against the slab the range has a back.

I would personally take it to the top of the cabinets

What color are your cabinets? They look really cream/yellow with the lighting you have and the wall paint color.

What slab are you using for counters and backsplash?

The cabinets are a cream white. The counter/backsplash are quartzite in a whiteish/gray.

The light fixtures and hardware are polished nickel and have a modern flair

Up to the ceiling can be contemporary? and esp. if a geo. shape of the vaulted setup.

I'd consider framed wood that continues hood 'box' to the ceiling; I don't like that it ends/stops as it does. Made to look exactly like the hood.

It’s looking great so far! but I see your quandary. Have you considered a curved design? that way you don’t have to stop at cabinets or ceiling?

Not a pro, but photos so far show hood style with a straight-across low ceiling, and not slanted...
