Coretec Calypso Oak comparable

HELP! Put down Coretec Calypso Oak throughout bedroom level and stairs of my home, now onto main level (went backwards due to a water damage issue)...we cannot find the product without spending a small forture, and it being on backorder. We are redoing our kitchen soon and desperately need help finding this, or something 99% comparable. Any thoughts or ideas welcome! Thank you!

I get that. people always bring up kids and pets, and yet wood floors have endured for 100 years in homes.

I'm just saying, for that amount of money coretec is charging, I'd rather have real wood. If all you want is durable, look into large porcelain tiles. Or maybe tile in the kitchen and real wood in the living area. there are plenty of engineered wood floors that will hold up to kids and pets. I just did a 7" european white oak and it's amazing! pet messes, water spills, dirt, whatever. cleans up great. (and looks so much better than fake wood. Will last longer too. )

look into some of the oak options. you might be surprised.

I would call the company and see if they have ideas of what is closest.

You could always do a runner up the stairs so that the carpet would be the place your eye sees as a transition rather than differences in wood.

have you considered using a real engineered wood flooring on the bottom floor? For the price of the Coretec, I'd rather have real wood that's going to last decades longer.

based on their images under the same line, the Aurora Oak and tampa oak are the two closest

Maybe Springfield Oak? don't know if it's the same dimesions as the other.

Hi @Lini Alim - We have not used Calypso Oak in our kitchen. It was installed in our basement. But we do have cabinets in our basement that will be white. Unfortunately the cabinet doors are not delivered to me yet. But I think you can never go wrong with Calypso oak and white cabinets.

DONT go with Ciaro Oak here is our experience...We put Cairo Oak by Coretec in out new build home from flooring liquidators in late 2021. We have 4 kids ages 9-1 and thought a LVP would be the most practical way to go. While I still agree LVP is great with kids this flooring is AWFUL! The color Cairo oak specifically eats anything it touches. Its sadly in our whole main floor so we are on it most of the day. This flooring makes holes in socks and in the knees of pants in literally two seconds. It has become quite costly replacing pants and sock for four kids. It is specifically this flooring. We have had other LVP flooring in past homes with kids and did not experience this. I tried reaching out to Coretec and got a careless response. It is very upsetting to spend such a large amount of money on flooring for a well known brand only to get a crappy quality in return. If you are looking at Cairo Oak from Coretec..keep looking. I wouldn't even recommend the brand after the way they handled their customer service.

Hey, I have Calyso oak floors. I actually really regret them. The bevels are really hard to clean, they just collect dirt and grime! Also, they are so matte and i have a lot of windows and natural light. They looks so smudgy and eye is drawn towards this! Even freshly mopped, they just never look clean. I wish i would have went with no bevels and something with a bit more shine so they would camoflauge better! I really recommend against this flooring!

@Beth H. : not sure what happened, besides the obvious, with flooring, but when we originally got our Coretec for the top floor is was almost $2 less! I understand shipping constraints but wow! The need for LVP is more based on our lifestyle, 2 toddlers, dogs....hoping I can find a comparable! Thank you

Try getting some samples from Home Depot. It's the rigid core luxury vinyl flooring or Big Bear Oak Flooring
